the guy on the mic before games at the brit- too `american`. tony mowbray telling us all he`s sticking to his `principals` & not doing a `stoke`. away fans at the brit telling us after games we are`nt that loud-like it makes up for their teams getting beat. spitefull insults from journo`s at stoke players-they wouldn`t insult rooney or terry.

Referees are the worst - in the championship they were just plain incompetant, in the prem they are just plain biased, consciously or not. I'm not necessarily talking about the big decisions (they normally revert to championship form on those occasions) but just the reffing of bog standard centre circle tackles, 50-50's, headers that grind you down when ten of them go against you.
I'm not really that bothered about the journos - they were doing exactly the same last season, it's just that there are ten times as many doing it this season - if they truly are football puritans then let them write as such. The dig at shawcross by jeremy alexander was cowardly and out of line though.

Arsenal, I hate them.
It's so sweet that we play them on the last day of the season. :-)

Wenger's rant against Stoke and the Stoke players after his defeat at the Brit finally sunk in.
The refusal of some refs to be even handed when the biggest players such as Rooney and Ronaldo commit fouls for which smaller club's players get carded - eg the match between Stoke and ManU at the Brit
The lack of atmosphere at so many Premiership grounds. I expected ManU and Boro to be bad but the silence of the home fans at Goodison Park came as a shock.

IS it only me who thinks that by & large (some exceptions!) the refs have been mostly fine?
maybe it because I fully expected them to favour the big sides (something I can just about remember from the early 80's) that teh actuality of them doing so hasnt annoyed me as much?

I think it's just the fact that our fans naturally get frustrated when decisions don't go our way (even if they're the correct decisions), it seems that some fans natural response is "the referee's a wanker."

I think the refereeing has been the one thing about our Prem adventure that's made me think "what's the point?". When the ref is blatantly, awfully biased against you when you're at home to 'Boro of all teams then it shows you the scale of prejudice "unfashionable" and promoted teams face.

Mason WAS awful t'is true.
I do think the Boothen End watches a different game though.
I guess the stand out poor decisions in favour of the big boys was the failure to send Rooney off for his attempt break fayes nose with his flailing elbows (straight red for any player) & Ronaldo for his antics (see again at craven Cottage last saturday).

People who constantly slag us off (Media/Supporters/Managers/Pundits) because of our style and dont give us any credit for making do with what weve got. Let these people judge us (if we are still in the top flight) when weve had 3 or 4 years premiership money behind us.

That, and the fact that whoever is in form at the time (Gerrard at the mo) is suddenly the front-runner. He wasn't even being talked about as one of the top contenders a month or two ago but he's favourite all of a sudden after a few brilliant performances in a row.

"PHIL! CAN I TAKE A PHOTO!!" And was leaning over taking pictures of their subs bench and that! Probabley a contender for the Most Annoying Person I've Ever Met award!

I'll echo Dubai Stokie's comment about the innumerable breaks we have had to suffer. I suppose we have to accept the International breaks but it was ridiculous the number of blank Saturdays we had following our FA Cup defeat. There are so few midweek Premier League matches that clubs whose Saturday league games were postponed because of Cup games would have had no problems in finding midweek dates to play the rearranged league games.

No. I agree with you. We seem to be conditioned to criticising the ref for any wrong decision. They make fewer mistakes than most of the players! That's not to say I'm averse to vocal criticism at the match where it helps us lift the team. Along these lines I get irritated by Alan Green. He is always slagging off "terrible"referreeing decisions, which are often later shown to be correct. He also demands the conflicting "sensible" decision making and "consistency". The classic example was he argued himself into a ridiculous position that when Pederson was fouled in the Manure box, but the ref didn't give a penalty. He said it was a stonewall penalty (probably right in this case) but then argued that Pederson should have been sent off for diving!! How stupid would that be? I say we should give the refs freedom to use common sense and allow for some inevitable inconsistency. Its the inconsistencies and elements of luck that really make this the beautiful game.

Actually realising that the belief that United get massive favouritism amongst both refs and the media is actually true.
The media only ever focusing on our work ethic and not some of our quality players i.e Faye, Beattie etc.
All in all the there are 1000x more positives, the Prem is the only league to be in!
