Personally I think we are well covered in defense and look a strong unit. Midfield is a worry. Lawrence and Diao will be automatic when fit. Honestly now take away Dealp's throw and would you have him in the team ??? No is my answer. Have to say though we miss his throws when he ain't playing. Eustace , no where the player he was and don't get forward enough. Simply we do not have a left midfielder of a standard good enough and should be the priority. You are not telling me that we couldn't find better players than SJE, Delap and whoever plays left midfield in the division below us ??? These are squad players but I feel TP has to much faith in Delap anyway - he needs to show no sentiment at all. Up front simply without Fuller the whole team looks average. We need a similar player with Mama and Cresswell as well. Nothing short of three players by the end of the loan period - and decent first team players at that or it will go away quick. As much as I like Mama I reckon Adebola would have done same job but scored more goals. Perricard and Parkin - we can't find better for peanuts - bet we could- to much loyalty !!

Agree with most of that but you're being harsh on Delap, who has improved massively and was MOTM against Preston and Hull for me. Pugh can play in the middle too, I'd go with Diao and either Delap or Pugh (assuming we bring nobody else in).

I agree it really depends where you set the bar, better than the better players or those like Perricard, Matteo Pulis jnr, Buxton, Broomes and Parkin, that wouldn't be difficult though I would hope they are working from the top end and trying for players of equal if not more ability somehow I can't see those players being here by midnight.

Our bench is consistently pretty poor and often that's what decides things in tight games.

I think it is one of, if not the daftest phrases to be spouted these days TBH!
Surely if any team buys someone it will be someone they think will improve the squad if not immediately but at sometime.
A team is hardly going to say.. "yes we got him in but he's a bit shit really but we thought what the hell"
