It is great to see two talented strikers playing together BUT, from where I was yesterday it seemed that Ric was the one playing slightly higher up the pitch. Now, with Ric's ability to run at players and his LACK of ability to trot back onside, would it not be better for Beattie to be the one playing higher up the pitch, after all, he is also better at holding the ball up.
Just a thought.

Beattie was playing in mama's position, it didnt work at all. Fuller being Lazy wasn't the best either.

Fuller does frustrate me. At times he looks lazy but then he chased the ball down to win the throw that resulted in the goal.

Does anyone actually watch the pace Fuller runs at and just how many of those runs he makes in a game? Add to that the amount of to say the least crude challenges on him that he kept getting up from and preparing for the next one so.......
HOW THE FUCK IS HE LAZY????????
He isn't a long distance even paced runner, he's a sprinter and that's what makes him special. You wouldn't expect Usain Bolt to keep going full tilt for 90 minutes along side a marathon runner would you? You either want an explosive pacy striker or you don't, I know what I want.

Jamo I take your point but surely even ric could try and look like he is trying to get back onside instead of ambling back towards the back line.

My point about sprinting is valid though I feel, when a 100m race is run, that's it for the day for those sprinters because they give everything in that explosive burst. I'm not suggesting Ric is as quick but he is as close as we get so he does have to conserve energy if he can "come alive" as he does when the ball is played down the channels. He could work back more and I guess I can understand why people may think he's a touch lazy but if he did do that tarcking back work we would lose so much from his game and he would be pretty ineffective.

I thought all amonst our performance yesterday (see winiining ugly elsewhere) I thought out of all our players, the two front men with their contrasting styles proved a real handful for the Boro throughout.
Both got a good battering too, including our 'fragile' Riccy and yet they both stoood up very well
Beattts actually missed a very good heading opportunity off A lawrence cross too - very uncharacteristic but readily forgiven for the shift he put in !

Ric was awesome yesterday, he ran and ran and got battered time and again. His 'ambling back' works as well as the back two of Boro stayed further back and kept looking around, worried he would be on their shoulder
What this man has to do for some of you is beyond me

Pulis favours his 4-4-1-1 system, which means that one of our strikers is always playing the 'Mama Role' - yesterday it was Beattie's turn to attempt to flick on to Fuller. It clearly didn't work and meant that our most potent attacker of late was always facing away from goal and sitting too deep. Plus their centre halves were winning the aerial battle.
I wish he would start with 4-4-2 with Fuller/Beattie, Etherington and Lawrence out wide and Delap and Whelan in the centre. Sidibe showed what an impact player he can be and should remain as one.
