I don't think they've been that impressed and Parkinson has had doubts over his fitness (and weight). He was exchanging texts with TP about it! ;D
The other week Soares was only on the bench.

If he's only good enough to warm the bench for the Division's bottom club then that means he's not good enough for us. What a waste.

not so much a waste, as a totally mind-boggling signing

If the lad did sort out his fitness I think he is a bloody good prospect. Otherwise, sell him to Leeds. They seem to like our dreggs

Charlton's demise is a complete shocker for me, they have a decent Championship squad, I cannot fathom as to why they have been so shite this season. We were touted as being interested in their skipper Mark Hudson when he left Palarse.
Weren't Charlton a top half Premier League club but a few years ago??

I like the look of Soares but he does look on the big side, not fat just bulky.

I don't really rate Soares. He doesn't have a place in the team right now.

Soares is good when he has the ball at his feet and a bit of space to run at players, but I do think he struggles to ever get the damn thing under control, his first touch is nowhere near premiership standard. He also seems to struggle when competing in the air, in fact in one home game (hull i think) he was barely even going up for the headers when they came his way, not likely to impress Pulis like that.
As for charlton, not really sure what's gone on with them, although i did predict both them and watford to do shite this season. They have been missing zheng zhi for most of the season, he's their main man by all accounts, selling iwelumo has probably not helped matters either.

From his Palace days though he can head a ball, he showed that against us and I thought he's been decent at that when he's played here too. His first touch though is a bit piss poor.

The judgment of those who didn't rate him is proven correct.
A last minute deadline day panic buy. Just like Tonge, and the loans of Kelly and Camara.

We tried to get Camara at the last minute in the previous window. He was the backup option if all else failed.
If we honestly spent time considering this guy as a real option then we have problems. I think the fact that we loaned him demonstrates our insecurity about his ability and the desperation of Wigwam to be free of him.

I think all those Charlton fans who called those radio phone ins were right, they should get rid of Curbishley and push on from mid table in the Premier !!

Any idea how Charlton fans have rated him? I went to the Wolves/Charlton match last week and he played OK. He played a good 60 minutes ish and he looked as if he was Charlton best outlet. He got into some good positions and put a few balls in, but they rarely came to anything. Part of the problem was Charlton were playing with 4-5-1 with an absolute donkey upfront. What I was impressed with though was that he ran from the half way line with the ball to the byline and crossed it in. It got cleared and Wolves broke. Soares sprinted all the way back and made a last ditch tackle just infront of the opposite byline. I don't think it was really fair to judge him from one game though playing in a shit team with the likes of Matt Holland playing at centre half and Matthew Spring (Luton/Leeds reject) in the middle.

Soares seems to have alot of potential to me and turned in a cracking performance against spurs when his confidence seemed high. Does he look like a Pulis player though?, and for those who think he does ,where does he fit into a TP team?
