Hi,
I know the guy was born in Shelton but does anybody know if he had any brothers or sisters or what his parentts were called.
Trying to trace down his family tree to find members of his family for interviews.

In Neil's autobiography, he says there were eight children, hmself, 6 brothers and one older sister. Of the brothers, five were older and one younger One of the brothers was named Harry

Never realised just how good Freddie Steele was or how short his career was until reading the wiki article on him, if not for that knee injury Stoke's fortunes could have turned out totally different.

Going back to posting re seeing Nobby Steele play - have to admit to being old enough to have seen him! In fact, still have (after 63 years!) the photocard he signed for me in 1947. Also have one signed by Frank Soo (was my Dad's) but not even I am old enough to have seen him play!
It's amazing how these, as well as other photos signed by Neil and Sir Stan, have survived through numerous house moves up and down the country, a stint in the Navy and working abroad.
