Leeds in 92/3 are according to the Daily express the only team ever to go through a premier league season not win away and stay up so we ve just got to in away or its curtains . Borne out by the other threads on fi as youd fancy newcastle to beat fulhm and boro a home so 40 is likely to be needed

Sorry, Benjamin, your logic has defeated me. "One team has managed to do it before therefore no other team can do it" - is that what you are saying?

i'm sure that's happened more than once. I think the express might be wrong here, didn't Fulham do it once?

We are staying up regardless of whether we actually win an away game.
Speaking of which we have WBA coming up....hoping our run continues there. The baggies hate playing us.

'the history of the premiership'
I hate that phrase
like the last 16 years are all that matters whilst the previous 104 years of League football count for nothing.

We'll stay up if we get more points than the team in 18th place.
It doesn't matter if we win those points at home or away.
Not to say points gleaned away from home are a bad thing, quite the opposite, it would take the pressure off us at home.
It's all sort of obvious really!

Fullham went 34 games (i think)* without winning away! *it was at least 31 Prior to their victory at Bolton, Fulham were 28 games into the season sitting mid-table having only scored 3 goals away from home! I'd be suprised if many sides in the past have sat there having scored 3 away goals after 28 games. For me its just more evidence of how much you can achieve on home form alone. Following their win at Bolton they have took 6 more points than us away, the rest of their points have come at home, and they are pushing for uefa cup places! And before their win at Bolton they had took 3 more points than us away, and sat mid-table! If our away was a good as ' half decent ' this season i honestly think we would be around 10th-12th. 15 points available for us at home, all of which are against sides out of the top 6, there is no reason at all why we can't secure 12 points from that at least, and that would put us on 41 points, and keep us up in my opinion.

We need to win 2 away games imo. May as well start planning for trips to Doncaster, Blackpool, Swansea etc...

3 wins 2 draws will keep us up, we have 5 very winnable home games. We do not have to win away but it would relieve some of the pressure.

the other way of looking at it is has anyone been relegated with such a great home record?

We need to win 2 away games imo. We don't. It's easily doable without winning away at all, but I think if we beat WBA we're safe.

reading that was like breaking the enigma code, there has been more than 1 team stay up with no away win all season - 2 i think, it is more than imaginable to see us stay up without an away win, west brom seems to be the most likely place we`ll get a win away though. we are putting pressure on ourselves by not getting the away win but to be honest this stoke team seems more than comfortable playing any side at home without fear so our home form is all that matters really but an away win would be gratefully received, fingers crossed.

We need to win 2 away games imo. dont be silly we will be safe with 3 wins, 3 draws, 3 defeats so whats wrong with the 3 wins being at home with 2 draws and then away from home 1 draw and 3 defeats like this for example Boro - Win Castle - win Blackburn - win west ham - draw wigan - draw west brom - draw hull - lose fulham - lose Arsenal - lose

I don't mind admiting I'm worried We could quite possibly win ALL our remaining home games then again, we could quite possibly LOSE them Away from home our results/performances are on the whole........ w@nk inconsistent At least five of our remaining fixtures are against teams with everything to play for............
