That's ridiculous for what is in reality a run of the mill steady midfielder!

Just goes to show that our spending is not (yet) that high compared to the majority of Championship clubs. Even Nottingham Forest have just offered £1M for Barry Robson from Dundee Utd.

Seems very steep, although he is a decent Champ midfielder, not worth that though

If you want the player, stump up the cash.
Wish Stoke would adopt that attitude once in a while.
(Although I wouldn't want Norris)

This issue has been flogged to death on this messageboard.
Suffice to say teams with ambition get their targets once in a while.
Griffin aside, we've signed no new players this transfer window.

This is a perfect illustration of the point that Coates and Pulis have been making about inflation during transfer windows. A player like Norris would improve our squad, but I wouldn't be at all happy paying that much for him. Some on here were were whinging because we payed just over half that on a goal-scoring centre-half. As long as deals like this are going down, I'm not confident we'll be making any exciting permanent signings this week.

reason they want so much for him is because Bolton have a 50% sell on clause. this is why most championship clubs gave up on signing him

I'd say Norris was probably the best central midfielder available in the Championship - a bit more experienced than Whelan. Whelan should be the better buy though as his contract situation means he should go for around a quarter of the Norris fee.

I’d pay that much for Chuck Norris
There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live.
