It is Tony's first year in this class and he has certainly had an interesting year.
Class position Tony is currently 18th in class (or joint 16th with a poorer exam scores than the boys around him). Tony finds himself, along with about 9 others, competing for six places. The other three will all have to drop down a class and do retakes next term.
Overall Attitude Tony has been a bit naive at times and little bit abrasive. He is certainly a tough boy and took no time at all to ruffle a few feathers, particularly with Wenger, one of the senior prefects whom he made cry. It has to be said that he has done better than many in his dealings with some of the senior prefects, such as Wenger, Benitez and O'Neill. He did, however try this on with the Head Boy, Fergusson, who put Tony in his place once or twice this year.
Could do better if... On the negative side, Tony has had some issues with discipline and has been punished with some of his things being confiscated at fairly critical times. Tony will need to do better in this area if he is to get on in this class and he will need all those things to help him. Tony can also be a bit predicatable at times and some of the more experienced boys have seen through that.
More of the same please... On the plus-side, Tony has done well making the most of some limited options. It is difficult in the first year, but Tony has stuck to his guns, and focused on creating direct opportunities for himself. Some think he is a bit too direct in this and a bit predictable. But Tony never gives up and for all the criticism he has received from some of the teachers, it has been this above all which has stood out. There have been times this year when we thought Tony was struggling in some classes, only for him to come back again after break-time and surprise everyone with very impressive work. It is a shame he has often given himself too much to do by the time he does this.
Forecast Tony is trying very hard and has given himself every chance of remaining in this class. He is currently competing with nine other boys for six places. He has nine examinations left and in at least three of them we would expect him to score top marks. We think he should pick up marks here and there from the other exams as well. If he does so he should improve the one place he needs to by the end of the term and he can then look forward to building on this 'interesting' start in the class next term.
Summary Tony needs to buckle down for the last few weeks of this term and bring his 'after break' attitude in with him from the start of every lesson. If he misses this opportunity he will have to drop down a class and do retakes.
