Like his style.
No daft dance, no 'you're not singing anymore' cupped hand to the ear, no sticking his face in the lens of the nearest camera.
Just a dignified jog straight back down the centre of the pitch to get back to his defensive duties. Not even a pause to take in the the congratulations of his team mates.
It's all in the cause of duty you see...
Quality.

Ryan is a legend in the making.
Outstanding potential and learning from one of the best defenders ever to pull on a Stoke shirt alongside him.
We love ya Ryan!

Might be due to the fact that when he has scored this season we have been 2 nil down. If it had put us into the lead then it might be a different story.
He is quality though.

I am sure you will see a different side to Ryan when he scores one that gives us a lead.

I seem to recall that Ryan uses the fingers to pursed lips celebration.
I.E at Ninian Park and The Hawthorns last season.
Just think the 2 he has scored this year, haven't been appropriate for that kind of celebration.
Ryan is class though!

To be fair I don't blame Gerrard for his celebration one bit. The amount of abuse he's had from m Utd fans over the years.

Couldn't agree more, Gods. Dignified and professional and probably spending the week's training thinking about his game and our future, rather than spending the time choreographing another daft routine.

I think his celebration reflected the game, and position we were in.
If he scores a last minute winner at Arsenal to keep us up you may see a different reaction.

No doubt Ryan will look happier, if we're winning. May even go mad and punch the air. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif) I've no objection to that and like some emotion. But acting like England's best-ever captain, suits him. May he do half as well as Bobby.

Speaking of defenders scoring goals, I know a Rangers fan who had £20 on Celtic scoring first( ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/7TTgAtwUz19SBi0cvrCX.gif) ) with Darren O'Dea!! He did of course ;D He was probably the only Rangers fan reaping the rewards of a cup final loss ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif)

I've commented before when he's been involved in the goal area how he tears back to where he should be. Doesn't Saint Tony get upset with their goal celebrations?

I taught he might have been a bit out of his depth early on this season but he has improved unbelievably in recent months and seems to get better with every game and learn more from AD everyday!!!
He has been fantastic lately but i agree that we will see a different response if he scores a winning goal!

Last season when we played Newcastle in the cup they had one stand out player in Faye, he was absolutley immense. I said to my Dad on the way back thank fuck we dont have to play against defenders of his calibre every week because he had Fuller in his pocket.
I think he is one of the best CBs in England, what the fuck he is doing in a relegation battle i'll never know.
Edit: I cant see how you think he is over-rated, like I said Fuller didnt get a sniff against him, his £10m+ replacement at Newcastle had rings ran around him, literally, vs Fuller this season.
