Is he just another waste of money that pulis spent.I thought he was a good buy at 3.5 mil what has happened to him. I mean come on how does diao get a start before him.is he injured or not favored in pulis squad.

He's not injured, just out of favour. He looked good at the start of season, picking up a copule of goals but did fade quickly. Deserves a second go, but I think 3.5 million was a little too much for him in my opinion.

I agree he should be in front of Diao, but i think Amdy Faye should get in front Olifinjana.

surely if we go down oli would be a player we need to keep hold of, hes proven in the championship and would be valuable to us, id take him any day of the week over diao faye or delap

It was the cost of a newly promoted premier league club buying a player from the Championship.
He's good enough and he'll be back.

yeah i see all your points apart from him been wank.i think salif is wank and should be shipped out in the summer.he doesnt even seem to give faye alot of time to make a name for himself.its seems he gets a start then hes dropped again because he thimks salif is without a doubt the best midfielder we have.

Oli loses the ball regular, isnt great at passing, shit at closing players down and cant mark a man.
Other than that he is brilliant

He has not done it yet, but i don't think he should be as far off the first team squad as he is

Diao is constantly the wrong side of his man . His ditribution is awful not too mention his complete lack of awareness. The bloke looks out of sorts, uncomfortable on the ball cant shoot for shit. Oli is a good midfeilder when played in the right place he plays up thew feild not a defensive midfielder his shots are extremly dangerous and his passing is as good as whelans. But it seems if you have a few bad games then your finished here. Amdy other than his red at boro early in the season in my opinion has done nothing wrong . Never mind ehh
Come on Stoke !

Olofinjana x 2 = (Diao - Dopeyness+Passing Ability+Good Tackle)

Pulis said earlier in season that Diao was the quality player in our squad :-)

crikey, we really are in dire straits (not Mark Knopfler' mob) if we want Olifanjana back in.
As for standing out in the Championship - please refer to his previous games against us (the 4-2 especially at the Custard Bowl where Whelan absolutely hammered him) and any Wolves messageboards you wnat to go on.
Quite simply, them lot getting 3.5 milion for him saved Moxey from being hung.

Not good enough. I said it as the rumours that we were signing him started and I have been consistent in that view ever since.

I don't think he can be likened to players like Diao and Faye because he is a completely different type of midfielder to them. The other two are very defensive and against the biggest clubs, almost play in defense. However, Oli is a much more attacking player who likes to play behind the strikers. (Well he played well there for Wolves).
I dont think he has played too well at Stoke but maybe he is just out of positon when Tony plays him in a defensive midfielder position, and he would be much more effective in his natural attacking position
There...my opinion

He's about as unlikely a Pulis central midfielder as Kitson is a Pulis centre-forward - which makes you wonder about how much thought went into the signings of our 1st and 2nd most expensive signings of all-time - or quite how desperate things got as we scrambled around for players with 2 legs and a pulse at the start of August.
He was very hit-and-miss for Wolves. They didn't think he would make the step up and were pretty sniffy about his contributions in the C'ship and we haven't seen anything at all to suggest he'll still be here next season, whichever division we're in.

An absolutely awful player, but is a fit Olifinjana worse than an unfit Diao??
Or is a fit delap in the middle better than both a fit Olifinjana and an unfit Diao? I think so.

The kind of player we could probably now attract is not the same as those we could attract when we were new to the prem. There is a need to get a reasonable sized squad together very quickly, and some of the players you bring in won't work out. Olifinijana definitely hasn't justified his pricetag, but on the other hand, we got Sorro, Abdoulaye, Beattie for much less than they are probably worth.

Now that Diao is back in the mix, I cannot see Oli getting anywhere near a centre midfield spot now. He's miles behind in the pecking order, especially when you look at the following who can all play in his position
Salif Whelan Amdy Rory Pughy

This is a strange one. For Wolves he played an attacking midfield roll & was very effective Whereas Pulis plays his central midfielders in a defensive roll. It makes you wonder why he bought him. Defending is not his strength, attacking is. We have never seen him play for us in his best role.
