the man can pick a defensive players , and good ones , at the drop of a hat, but when it comes to strikers and attacking (or controlling)midfielders he seems to be dumbfounded. an important game like Charlton and he keeps Diao on the bench for a guy who has a long throw in !! what is his aversion to goal scoring attacking players , i just dont get it

Since when has Diao been an attacking, goal getting player?

To be fair, I see what you're saying, but Delap's been our best player in the last couple of home games, and dropping him would have been harsh.

We are joint second highest scorers in the Championship, the attackers Tone has bought in can't be that bad, can they?

Fair point. But he does play Lawrence and Cresswell in midfield and they have scored best part of 20 goals between them, How many assiats does Delap have? Great isn't it, we lose a match and suddenly Pulis hasn't got a clue!!!!

To be fair, we score a phenomenal percentage of our goals from set-pieces, which are a pretty discrete, almost 'special teams' element of the game which we seem to have got absolutely nailed.
Someone worked out it was nearly 60%, which is almost 1/3 more than even Allardyce's set-piece freaks.
Maybe helps to explain the disparity between the feeling that there aren't quite enough goals in the team and the reality of our very impressive goal stats.

wow, what short memories we all have,. last season, we had a big run of games where we didnt lose, then a long run wher we didnt win, with a shortage of goals, (even with a big positive goal difference) a lot of times its not the amount of goals scored, its just having to score a few. Fuller is good, but like the team is streaky, is it 12 goals so far ?? we need someone of his calibre by his side, by his side, not behind him like Cresswell and and Sidibe seem to play, to feed off each other, to challenege eachother, to keep eachother sharp. even though we line up 4 - 4 -2 we always seem to end up playing 4 -5 - 1, with Fuller trying to do it all

The point is, it appears some people have been waiting (SINCE NOVEMBER 10TH) for us to lose so you can have a go at Pulis, after all it's been a bit tricky to do this season what with us being fourth in the league, only 4 points off top spot, lost the least games in the division, and second best goal diiference. Oh wait a minute, youre right Pulis hasn't got a clue has he!!

How many assiats does Delap have? Loads from throw ins! People often say that Delap is a one trick pony, well, I don't think he is for one point, and another is that the trick he's mastered has won us alot of points this season! Rory has been made the new scapegoat by some supporters, perhaps he wasn't at his best earlier in the season, but he was coming back from a terrible injury; now he's getting fit he's doing a good job for us... able to break up play well and be strong in midfield as well as provide a constant threat from throw ins. A good asset to the team! And THAT was my first post ;D

Fenpark, I was actually highlighting the fact that Delap does have plenty of assists, not slagging him off, I can leave that to Fromafar ;D

I'd agree, if that statement was true on any level.
