Last night we actually played some football - passes exchanged between Wheelan, Lawrence, Fuller and Beattie; an attacking full back pushing up in Wilko; slick skills from AFaye and a great all round performance from Sorrenson. We looked like a premiership team at last and it would be good to see more of the same over the last ten games.
And we actually got a second goal rather than falling deep and hanging on for dear life and conceding in the last minute. We could even have had a third.
Perhaps now TP will realise that keeping possession of the football and pushing on with the full backs is a good idea rather than always hoofing it up to the big man and defending deep with nine men.
He should be brave and experiment with both Etherington and Lawrence at Everton, with Wheelan and Delap inside. Leave Sidibe and Diao on the bench and play Fuller and Beattie up front, bringing Camara on when Fuller tires or Sidibe for Beattie.
On the first home game of the season when we played the Villa, it was great to see stoke in all out attack, playing freely. Now we have better players and should really go for it against Everton. I think we would surprise and frighten them to death (so lost as they watch Cahill at the back) and the players would be liberated. Now that would be worth the price of an away ticket.

Chessy I agree with most of your post but I don't think experiments are much good at this stage. The midfield will be an interesting conundrum for Pulis but I can't see us starting at Everton without Diao or Faye in there, whilst the one you call is "offencive" !!
The home game v Villa I don't remember as all out attack, we had 3 attempts on goal and scored them all ?

Maybe it's the excitment of the villa game I remember and Fuller's special goal. We really wanted that game.

I think Liam adds to that side of the team- passing, keeping it on the deck etc. You have to bear in mind Liam is just back and this is really the first time we've been able to play these players together with Beattie new to the side.
At last maybe we have players who are comfortable enough to knock it around a bit- certainly look a far better side than we did a month or so ago.
