Why was Stan Collymores article about the Fuller incident in last nights fanzine? The article was from months back and now seems highly irrelevant and out of date so why was it in there? Seemed odd. ???

This won't answer bayern's question, but I thought the article on the Burnden Park Disaster was excellent. My grandfather was at that game.
Oh, yeah; I thought the back page was ace as well.

I forgot to mention that re the Burnden Park article. It was a bloody good read and what a tragedy.
The front cover made me smile too.

Some of the individual stories within the article were almost stranger than fiction, like the bloke who picked the lock of the exit gate in order to escape the crush.
I just can't imagine over sixty-five thousand in Burnden Park, even taking into account that far fewer areas of the ground were seated in those days. When I went in 1993, the capacity was something like 22k.

The picture of the bodies was horrifying too. Its amazing how it got played but a riot probably would have ensude if it hadn't so it sort of makes sense but it brings football into perspective.
The academy article was good too, it was a good issue but that one Collymore article and its inclusion riled me though and made me forget about the positives in my initial post.

The fact that the Bolton players had to go out and play the match, knowing that people had died, was extremely disturbing. How they managed to stay sufficiently focused, I'll never know.

I suppose they just had to get on with it as harsh as that sounds.
