Thought he had a good game tonight a couple more under his belt and he'll be back to his best. You could see a big difference in the quality of the free kicks and corners. With lenny and Whelan we played some attractive football at times tonight. Couldn't believe it when Mike Dean stood over the ball stopping Lenny take that free kick what a cock! January is always a depressing month, and especially being a Stoke fan, but it seems we now have players coming back to their best at the rights time. I don't expect us to get anything at Everton they are a very good side, but you never know and most importantly we've given ourselves a little breathing space. We have nothing to lose away from home i am hoping Pulis just goes for it away at Everton, you never know? Personally, i think were going to need 42 points minimun to avoid the drop, but we are more than capble

Hes not match fit yet but he'll get there if he plays games. 42 points? Is that for Europe ???

Good game overall yes. Furious about his dive though. For one thing i don't like our players behaving like that. For another thing it's a daft avoidable yellow card he deservedly got. For another thing he ahd a sight of goal and could have pulled the trigger before he got that far.

Agree completely with the comments above.
I think it will be a big mistake if the manager drops Lenny to accommodate Rory at Everton.

Looks to getting back in to it hopefully.

I'd be pretty satisfied with the team that ended tonight's game starting at Goodison, with Wilko in for Sonko.

Doesn't posess a left peg unfortunately and that can be the only reason why he didn't hit it first time. In my opinion Liam's best position is inside right of midfield. Affraid with Liam it's either inside right or not at all for me.

I actually think Liam's efforts since his return have been very promising and he's looked to best his man more than usual. Give him time, he'll be fine.

Indeed mate indeed, Would be nice to see two naturally right footed players operating in tandem down that right.

Tazi, Lenny and Wilko are both right footed, and although Tonge is also right footed he has played his whole career either in central midfield or on the left wing.

Yes, i know, my main point is that Lawrence 'for me anyhow' should be playing on the inside right of midfield or not at all and that's because he neither has the skill or the pace to get behind his fullback on the outside at this level. Inside right and that's where Liam plays his best passes. We really do struggle for someone out on that right flank so as such Tonge would do a decent enough job there unless Camara is capable in doing the buisness. I just see Liam as an inside right midfielder and you notice that as soon as Liam takes hold of the ball whilst out on the right he's always looking to bring it inside in oder to lay it off because Liam both sees the pass and often executes it to perfection. Inside right or not at all.

fact is we havent lost in the three games lawrence has started since his injury so why drop him , equally i believe the reason diao plays as frst choice is he has started all but one of the games weve won at home and three draws away pattern here

I aint suggesting that Tonge is the answer down that right side 'far from it' but not only do i believe that he's better than what we currently have but this would enable Liam to move inside right. Not that i'm saying as this is what i would do but it's an option in order to get Lawrence playing to both his strengths and best.
Liam is not going to cut it at this level by playing wide outside right but put him inside right and he's a far better player.
