Following the good news of Mama's impending return been chewing over Saturday's partnership and more to the point will it work?
As we know Mama has always worked as a lead target man winning the first ball for a perhaps a quick more direct partner with Ric generally fitting the bill.
Beattie as we know is also a target man and against Man City was going for the first ball with Ric feeding off. Beattie will admit pace is perhaps not his strong point but the ability to use his physical presence, and support a quicker parter is where he's more affective.
I may be wrong but do you feel these 2 guys have similar attributes, can they play together i for one hope so. Will roles etc have to be adjusted?
Any thoughts?

I'd go with Beattie and Camara personally. I'm a huge fan of Mama but Beattie is more of a goal threat and can hold the ball up as well and Camara would offer more pace than a Beattie/Mama partnership.

for all thats been said today, ie Sentivale, I think we will see Mama come off the bench, BT and Camara to start. Good point though, 2 target men is iffy, but we could be suprised ;D

Its all to do with our 'get out ball'. When Mama plays he is the easiest target for our defenders when under pressure. Higgy was very accurate in hitting the ball up to him. In recent games, Ethers has become the new 'get out ball', but we have lost him for a while. So for me, Mama will play as the rest of the team feel more comfortable with him in the side.
Last season we had a triple goal threat from open play; the lone striker and both wide midfielders. With Beattie up front, we need a fit again Lawrence on the right and a player who can score goals on the left. Mama is the fulcrum around which these 3 operate.

Cant wait see this, only because mama will be back in action. It would be nice to see these 2 playing togther though, Beattie will be Played whenever availble though i think, jus gta find a good partner for him, Kitson, Mama, Fuller, Camara, Cresswell , Pericard . Wouldnt it be funny if pericard gets played with him and they both get a hat trick

I'd have thought Camara would play, thats the reason he joined us wasn't it? first team football?!
Knowing Pulis he will surprise us all with a Mama-Cresswell partnership citing that both Beattie and Camara need a rest. There has to be a place for "first name on the teamsheet" Richie Cressers.

Beattie and Kitson for me. with fuller out injured i am happy for beattie with whoever even cresswell as long as kitson gets the next 3 games to see if that can work

Kitson works best with service from the wings, so why do we want to play him now when Etherington is out for three games? He'll just struggle as he has done so far without that kind of service surely?

Etherington is the man along with lawrence if we want to see kitson perform and for me now is the time while fuller is out.Mama should be eased back into the squad coming on as an impact sub.

beattie will start with camara
i tend to look back to the start of the season when we thought kitson would do the holding up job with fuller off him then mama was the impact sub think that will happen again

Does that mean we won't be playing Beattie either then, as his goals have come from Etherington assists?

I’d go Beats and Camara

Its a tough one, Mama actually has a decent ammount of pace but obviously if he is winning the first ball he can't really use it.
I would start with Beattie and Camara and bring of Mama if needed second half.
Will be great to head the Mama chant again!

I think Camara would be just as hungry to get goals himself rather than set Beats up, which is great aswell.
Untill I see it, I dont have much/ any confidence in Kits setting up Ric, BT, or Camara, he just gets bullied off the ball most the time.

Think how Mama played earlier in the season. Are we going to replace him with a man who couldn't get a game with Wigan and played against Sunderland like a Cresswell clone. I think Camara is one loan we won't be pursuing come the end of the season.

BT and Camara up front, Mama on the right wing, Cressy on the left.

Does that mean we won't be playing Beattie either then, as his goals have come from Etherington assists? H While Beattie's goals have both come from Etherington assists, his strength and ability to hold the ball up have seen him fit into our play better. We haven't really seen him without Etherington yet, but it's painfully clear that Kitson is far less effective without that kind of service.

He has fitted in better because of Etherington. Let's see how he gets on if he starts with Mama.

Abit of a daft comment if you ask me as soon as the guy came on he hit the ball from 25 yards out which alot of our players dont do.

He has fitted in better because of Etherington. Let's see how he gets on if he starts with Mama. H He's scored goals thanks to Etherington's assists, but overall he's looked far more comfortable and less lost than Kitson (who I still think can come good with the right service) because he's stronger and because he can hold the ball up better - as his assist for Rory's goal at Chelsea illustrates.

Beattie & Camara to start, Mama on from 60 mins

I think BT has looked more comfortable because he has played from the off in his rightful place and not some bastardised Mama role and secondly because he and Ethers have had each other from the start. Something Kitson never had.
Don't get me wrong I love BT and I don't think Kitson could do better than him, but lets just see how he plays without Ethers and with Mama, because I reckon BT will find it as frustrating as the next man.

Against Citeh Beattie was more of the withdrawn striker and was behind Fuller, rather than alongside him, and then the loan striker in the second half. He dropped back a fair bit and did a lot of running and still managed to get himself forward to score the only goal.
I'd have him there, with Camara in the Fuller role to add some pace, on Saturday.
