Looks like Paul Sturrock is going to be on his arse at Plymouth. 0-3 down at half time against Palace with his chairman hinting this week that he could be out if they lose tonight. Argyle look to be in the do-do don't they? What they need right now is a fire-fighter, to get them out of the crap. Any ideas?

Always thought he was a decent manager, but he hasn't done that well at Argyle. I think it might be because he's fat.

Dave f you may be tongue in cheek but in all seriousness it shows how far apart the 2 clubs are at the minute and surely many Argyle fans would love to have Pulis back despite all the slagging off he got whilst there.

Their wage budget must be one of the lowest in the division though, to be fair.
He's on a bit of a hiding to nothing, with expectations being what they are at virtually every club in the league.

Didn't he reveal earlier this year that he had Parkinsons Disease or something? If so, maybe this has been the focus of his attention instead of the football.

FM did you here Holloways comments about that tonight on SSN soccer special? He said it was like having three people in your relationship with Stapleton their chairman always turning to Sturrock for advice whist holloway was in charge. Then he was told he had to raise money for the club which resulted in selling Buszacky,Ebanks Blake,Norris and Halmosi he decided when the Leicester job came up it was time to go.

He's put together a shit side which may yet be kept up by Paul Gallagher. Now where have we seen that before.

Very true that momo and Quitterall said tonight whilst he was watching the game for sky that when Gallagher was bought on at half time he looked like the only player capable of changing the game for them.

Former Stoke player, young Sturrock if my memory serves me right.
Had a good managerial career North of the Border.

deserves the sack if he thinks gally aint good enough for a starting place in their wanky team. amazing how far apart the clubs are now. dont want to get on my high horse yet though as i remember that leicester, derby , ipswich , southampton , leeds and charlton , have all been premier teams this decade

I like Argyle. He has to go. He does have Parkinsons and that is very sad but he saw fit not to tell the Argyle chairman (his bestest friend in the whole world!) until AFTER he had been appointed as manager even though he knew well before.
The team is clearly playing with no confidence and are in freefall. Russell Slade sacked by Yeovil yesterday after winning 4 on the bounce or Steve Quitterell would be good replacements and give them a fighting chance of staying up.
Anyway we should all want Argyle to survive if for no other reason than if we do go down we can look forward to tucking into the absolutely devine "Ivor Dewdney Pasties" from the vans outside Home Park when we visit.

Obviously I know a lot of Argyle fans but his user name means nowt to me so I have no idea if I know him or not. ;D I do agree with Bristol Mick that it is time for Luggy to go. He hasn't recaptured the spirit in the squad that was there during his first spell before he walked out on them for his ill fated spell at Southampton. They could do a lot worse (as Mick says) than take on Slade (ex Yeovil) but I wouldn't touch Quitters with a barge pole - although I may be biased. PS - Mick, I miss a lot of things about Plymouth but none more than Ivor Dewdney's pasties. Plymothians are split between those who favour Ivor's pasties or those by his brother Ron. I was always in the Ivor "camp".

Wasn't so long ago on here that many were using Plymouth as the team we should be looking to emulate- everything from their team to their stadium, pricing policies etc. 2 years a long time in football.
I do think the feud between Ron and Ivor Dewdney has spilled over into the boardroom with Ebanks Blake claiming that Ginsters were better and being shipped out to Wolverhampton as a result.
