I come in peace, just to talk all things football and give the perspective of an Evertonian (who actually goes the games).

Welcome, any chance Cahill could be rested for the game against us? (But them brought straight back as he's in my fantasy team at work and there's cold, hard cash riding on it!!)

Cheers. He needs resting tbh he looks goosed after about 50 minutes these days but our squad is too small.

Welcome.
As a seemingly genuine fan of a top-half Prem team, I'd be interested to know what you honestly make of Stoke as a side, players, tactics etc, and how do you rate our chances of survival?

Everton is the sort of place we could get an unexpected 0-0 if they are off form.... expect us to lose to be honest, good side although maybe a little lucky to leave the Brit with 3 points (Ric's disallowed goal...)
Good luck for the rest of the season, would be nice for you to win the FA Cup.

And Arteta for that matter, same reason as Jamo!! Good Luck for the rest of the season, I really like Moyes I think he has done a great job with Everton!

I agree we were a bit lucky against you I went to that game and a fair result would have been a draw. Thats how tight this league is though you can't defend like you did for Anichebe's goal if you can remember.
As for Stoke I like them as a team, and a footballnig institution (mainly because my best mate at Uni is a massive Stokie). Anyway I think you will stay up if you carry on the home form because no team will be looknig forward to going the Brit. I think you have enough quality to stay up but sometimes Pulis' tactics confuse me as I'm sure they do for you. Why not play Lawrence more for a start? Reminds me a bit of the Fat Spanish Waiter's (Benitez) tactics...but not as mad as him.

Plenty of pundits have recently commented on how Everton play at a good pace at Goodison, with the fans creating a good atmosphere.
They seem to be hitting a bit of form in front of goal as well just lately.
I don't fancy our chances there at all.

What are the dimensions of evertons pitch? It always seems quite small on the tv but that might just be the camera angle........ We like little pitches we doooooo............

Yeah Moyes is doing great, not many managers could instil a team spirit we've got at the moment. We're in a great run of form at the moment but we dont try to get too cocky about it because we know our limitations. Goodison is a great ground always a good atmosphere that can instantly become a couldron like the Brit on the whim of a stern challenge or a bit of handbags (ie when Phil Neville crunched C.Ronaldo earlier on in the season).

The press conference cracked me up to be honest Moyes sometimes epitomizes the stereotypical dour Scot. As for the pitch it is quite small, dont know the exact dimensions but we like it tight so the fans can get right in the players faces.

Welcome. I posted on Grand Old Team or Chuffed to be Blue (can't remember!) when you were playing your neighbours as I was impressed with the noise you were creating - really good volatile atmosphere! It works - we do it every home game! I like David Moyes, no fuss, tells it like it is, and he was very well behaved when sent to the stand at The Britannia! Remember though, we need the points more that you do!

A mate I work with went to Goodison to watch Everton play Arsenal a couple of weeks ago. Suprisingly he said the atmosphere was terrible .......proper dire.
It'll be even quieter when Super James Beattie knocks in the winner !

Yeah its not electric every game, but in general it is good and can be a Cauldron when it wants to be. That game came in a very intense schedule for Everton fans dont forget playing 3 games against Liverpool, one against United and then this one at the Arsenal. It happens sometimes you know when you have a lot of passionate games in a short period of time sometimes the atmosphere is compromised in one game.

One of my best mates from years ago was a massive Evertonian and I went to a few games with him when they didn't clash with Stoke games.
I saw Everton beat QPR to win the league I saw you beat Shrewsbury in the cup and best of all I saw you beat ManUre at ManUre Gidman scored an own goal to give Everton the game! Quality!
But the best of all the Everton games I saw was Everton v Bayern Munich what a bloody fantastic match I think you lost the first leg one nil but battered them at Goodison for 45 minutes only to go one down on the night 2-0 on aggregate on the stroke of half time.
Everton were absolutely awesome second half and won 3-1 one of the best games I've ever been to and I must have been to the best part of 1500 matches

What strategy do you think can stifle the Toffees then? We will play two banks of four we will concede half the pitch to you but will fight for everything in the final third! Pretty much the same as every away game especially at the better clubs!

We don't get the FA Cup here for some odd reason. Saw Cahill play v Japan the other night and was used seemingly as a lone striker oddly. Can't see us getting anything at Goodison. Real good solid side are Everton and getting better as the season goes on. Any team that has Screech from 'Saved by the bell' in their side will be difficult to beat
