If you're planning on watching it, don't bother, it's fucking awful.
huge disappointment. Possibly as bad as 'Hancock'

With the quality of the cast that appear in this film you could be forgiven in thinking it would be a cracking film. How very wrong.

This is a classic example of people expecting the Hollywood ending and being disappointed when the film has the audacity to end unexpectedly. It's a superb film, but obviously too subtle for some round here.

I think a lot of people expected another 'No Country...' when they went to see this, jumping on the new-found Coen Brothers appreciation bandwagon.
But they've been doing this for years, making almost non-narrative films with Hollywood money that stick two fingers up at the industry.
For the record, I think it's a great film. That solitary moment where Clooney reveals his invention was worth my £6 alone.
The fact that no-one learns anything, there isn't a full story arc, and there's no bonafide resolution to the film makes it even more endearing.
If you want some real Coen Brothers magic check out Fargo.

Burn After Reading is very much in the Lebowski mould, insofar as it's a completely pointless and overcomplicated plot with a load of thoroughly irritating characters in it and a completely unsatisfactory ending. Which is what makes it great.
What did you want, another identikit goodies/baddies spoonfed Hollywood plot?

I can take off beat films or leave them..some are brilliant, others are extremely over hyped and shite..MAGNOLIA is an example of mind numbing bordom..DONNIE DARKO another example of over hyped shite...But the best 'cult' film ive seen in ages, and proper powerfull was REQUIEM FOR A DREAM...I cant comment on this latest coen bros movie, but will do soon..however FARGO is amazing and so was NO COUNTRY...
