with camara signing, it gives us an extra dimension so how about using it effectively in a 5 man midfield against sunderland?
how about
camara whelan amdy faye pugh etherington
in midfield?
would that work?

nope, we have 4/5 quality strikers.. why would we only use 1, especially when all we are going to do is hoof it over the top of the midfeild ??? surely a 4-3-3 would work better than that? Or how about, we stick with 4-4-2, out 2 banks of 4 defense and then hoofing it up to mama/beattie/fuller when we get it no, stupid idea sgt

Nooooooooooooooooooooo
4-4-2
Play same as we do at home as what we've done already ain't worked away from home.
Not overse to Camara on the right wing though as Whelan and Faye sit too deep anyway.

as usual my idea gets rubbished.
just thought that we could be 4-5-1 when defending and 4-3-3 when attacking, the pace of camara and etherington could be useful on the counter.
obviously a shit idea though

Pulis says he's having a re-think about the tactics away from home. We need to be stronger through the middle. I've posted on another thread the same formation 4-5-1 instead of the usual 4-4-1-1. I have the same midfield 5 except I've got Lawrence on the right instead of Camara.

Don't give Pulis any ideas! We have had enough "round peg square hole" team selections. In the word of Mike Bassett: "Four four fucking two".

I haven't seen him play on the wing to be fair but I doubt he would be anywhere near as effective as if we played him in his natural position. I'm still having nightmares about that 4-3-3 formation or whatever it was we put out against Watford last season.

We've lost the midfield battle in most of our away fixtures, so beefing up the middle seems sensible. I have seen Camara on the wing as well and I seem to think that he started off playing in that position. It hardly harmed Arsenal when they played Henry out wide, or Liverpool with Kuyt, or countless other teams who accept that it is no lonker 1982. Mike Basset was a satire, not a roadmap.

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7860417.stmIt's tough to read Pulis' comments in his last Radio Stoke interview as anything other than a pretty strong hint that he's thinking quite hard about 4-5-1 for away games "We've kept the same system and shape away as we've been using at home"
"But, looking at it, we may have to be a little stronger through the middle of the pitch, I've been thinking about it for a while now, but having had such a good performance at Chelsea, I didn't think it was right to change coming off the back of that, going into Spurs"
"But there'll come a time where I'll think 'yeah, we'll have a change' "
