These two are free agents. The Mirror says Dalla Bonna is in England looking for a club, training with West Ham but won't be signing for them. Go on Tone, either would do

Dalla Bona knows Zola so you can see why he is helping him out. Always looked OK at Chelsea but seems to have lost his way a bit at Napoli. Funnily enough, Adam Vass was linked with a move to Napoli a couple of weeks ago- wouldn't that be ironic?!
Forgot to say, Appiah would be quality and I think Spurs have rejected him.

Just what is the score with Appiah?
I just don't get how a player of his calibre has been without a team since the start of the season.
I know he's had a few injuries, but nothing career threatening as far as I'm aware.
Is he after outrageous money or somet?

No they didn't sign him.
I remember Dalla Bonna at Chelsea, wages for either I guess would be huge, but with no transfer fee, worth a deal surely

Appiah had a serious knee injury but has now recovered sufficiently to be called up to the Ghana squad. Another Adam Vass link- Appiah was training with him at Brescia in a bid to get fit!

The Ghana international has been training with Spurs for the past six weeks as he continues to recover from a knee injury. He has been working hard to regain fitness and has impressed manager Harry Redknapp with his enthusiasm and ability.
But the fears are that his knee problems will not allow him to play twice a week and Tottenham do not want another Ledley King scenario on their hands.
Former Fenerbahce and Juventus star Appiah is also asking for a pay packet which has been estimated somewhere north of £50,000 and he is not willing to entertain any pay-as-you-play proposals. www.goal.com/en/news/0/general/0001/01/01/1093643/title-not-present This gives the impression that Dalla Bona didn't leave Napoli until yesterday,so couldn't move to another club until the summer?

Even if Spurs don't sign Appiah, we don't want to be spending at least £50K a week on a player (look at what happened to Bullard)! FM- Dalla Bona did only announce yesterday that he had left Napoli but it seems he can still earn a contract elsewhere for this season. The contract termination must have happened on Monday then (unless they have snow in Italy at the moment)

sometimes you dispair and wish footballers would stop being greedy and realise a realistic pay packet
i know its a short career but he is hardly starving

I agree we should not pay astronomical wages if it would cause disharmony in the dressing room. But with there being no transfer involved and just on a contract until the end of the season, the fee would not be too dissimilar to the £500K we have paid to loan Kelly

Appiah it could be argued is 'only' asking for market value, after all is a very very good player.Only Essien is better for Ghana
of course your only worth what someone is prepared to pay you.
both corking players

Both were good players. We'd never pay astronomical wages for either. I don't know what's happened with either of them in terms of being without clubs.
In the case of Appiah, he must have serious fitness problems to be without a club for this long. With that in mind, I can fully understand how Spurs were looking at a pay-as-you-play deal. I can't see us going after either of them considering fitness and possible wage demands. If there's one quality about the Stoke squad and Pulis teams, it's a level of fitness which allows for the amount of time we're closing down the opposition in possession.
