Personally I think it would be a masterstroke, that would just leave two empty berths for the drop.
PS Before anyone tries to pick me up on it, James Beattie 3 games two goals, Kitson a lot more games and er, stuff all.

Similar story in the People.
Portsmouth are making a move for Stoke's misfiring Dave Kitson - in case a massive bid comes in for Peter Crouch.
Tony Adams has made an initial inquiry for the former Reading hitman, who has failed to fire under Tony Pulis, but still has a good top-flight reputation as a hard-working forward.
Stoke are not pushing Kitson out of the door and will look for a big fee before selling.
However Pompey are in the market for players and may make the plunge at about £3m
They are also keeping tabs on £5m-rated Theofanis Gekas of Leverkusen, after failing to land Lukas Podolski, who favoured a move back to Cologne. This has forced Adams to turn his attention to Kitson and Gekas.

One if you count Liverpool. Goodpoint though, I'd be sorry to see him go.

Providing we receive the same amount from Pompey as we paid up front to Reading, I'd be happy to see him go.

Wouldn't be a good move letting go of Kitson, I still think when he plays he brings a lot to the team. Surely we should judge him once we've seen him with some proper service??
Selling him to Portsmouth is a bad idea, I'd rather he warmed the bench here than help pompey stay up!

Obviously if somebody wants him then shirley we can ask for what we laid out for him. Can't see him being sold to be honest unless that happens.

I would like to see Kitson play for Stoke with some decent service, and for him to be allowed to venture into the opposition's penalty area.

What are we replacing? He hasn't done anything. He was out injured for a long spell. That's not the point. The point is what are we replacing? He hasn't done anything of note to date that suggests that we would require a direct replacement for him.

Yes, but if you're going to make a statement that "he hasn't done anything of note to date" - true though that is - you need to take into account that he wasn't in a position to do so for a significant period.

Alright then, if we want to be pedantic. Kitson hasn't done anything of note when he has had the opportunity. Point being I do not believe a player of his ilk has any role in a Pulis side. There's been no evidence to date that we can incorporate a player like Kitson into the system - thus, should we sell him, we do not require a direct replacement as such.
