I think today showed what many have known for a long time now...good strikers score goals. I expect Pulis to keep him for the rest of the season as cover for Fuller and Beattie but he certainly will not be first choice.
It's a shame that his time with us has not been fruitful , but I suppose sometimes situations like this do occasionally happen. We need to move on and rejoice in our new found stars...those being..Pugh, Wilkinson,Shawcross who are getting better and better with each game.Infact, I would suggest that the money we may have 'wasted' on Kitson has been 'recovered' by the standards the three I have just mentioned, have now set. We must be talking £ 12 million pounds at least...! Add to this the value of Faye(Captain) and Delaps long throw-ins, and before you know it we are talking of a side that has improved immeasurably from last season.
Last, but not least, lets talk about Team spirit.
It is by far the best in the Premiership and that's the main reason why I have no doubt that we have the qualities to stay up this season, and ultimately secure a long term position in the Premier league for many years to come....
A fantastic performance ...we are talking one of the best ever.!

Good post BUT you never know. Kits will get a chance to play next to BT, if they gel then away they go ! Could happen, Kits is a good proven player and alongside BT it could be a perfect match.
It's up to Kits to make it happen when he gets the next chance to play with BT, it's a good problem to have when you have 4 strikers (Could be 5 soon) all fighting over 2 spots !

What would you say if Bosfat had signed him Mumf?
Remember you being not too complimentary about the Bangoura situation.

I'm struggling to see Kitson getting on the pitch again this season, bar a possible late cameo.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he left (at least on loan) on Monday?

Assuming another striker comes in, possibly Camara....
And assuming that it's possibly in Pulis' head to switch to 4-5-1 away from home, which is what some people were reading into his Radio Stoke interview yesterday, where he said it's been in his head for a while to stiffen up the middle of the pitch away from home - and Spurs might be the trigger.
It's a big leap to make Kitson anything other than 6th choice striker, behind Beattie, Fuller, Sidibe (assuming he's back in 2-3 wks), Cresswell and the new man.
And it's unthinkable that he'd be anything other than 6th choice in the pecking order to be the '1' away from home.
He's also pretty low on the list to come on as a game-altering impact sub.
If I was Kitson or Pulis, I'd be looking to sort something out in that situation, if only to save his £25k-a-week wages fo a few months, and stop him rotting on the sidelines.

Pulis needs to bit the bullet on Kitson and admit defeat.....Kitson already has I believe.
Get Shut.

To be fair to Kitson, how much better might he have done if Etherington had been there all season providing the same kind of wonderful service that Beattie has been lucky enough to receive?
Kitson is a quality player and we can't afford to let him go out on loan for the rest of the season. I don't want to see us ever be in a situation where we're left having to put Pericard in the team again.

got to feel for kitson, agree that beattie has had more quality service than kitson, the only thing with pairing the two up is there is no pace, however with etho the bullet on the wing it makes up for it.

New stars Pugh and Wilko??!! As for Kitson it would be madness to let him go and should be given a go with ethers and Beattie...but lets face it Ricci is likely to get a ban before the end of the season then as sumdge says we would be back to cressy or pericard...TP has to try and keep all his better players happy and Kitson is one of those

I take the point about Pericard. That's a powerful counter-argument!
Also obviously take the point about service. It's a very tangled web that's led us here, and Kitson's career demonstrates he's very talented in the right frame of mind and team set-up.
But Cressy would surely be picked ahead of DK in all conceivable circumstances here and now, by this manager, at Stoke?
Assuming Mama is back in 2 or maybe 3 wks, and we sign a striker (Camara still looks on), can anyone honestly really see DK getting a start - even if, hypothetically, Fuller gets a ban and Beattie, for example, gets injured?

I can see the move to Pompey coming off tbh. Struggled here big time and i think its clear he hasn't settled in well at all. Seems a shame though as it looks like we're getting a team together that could help him score.

Feel sorry for the lad tbh. Hes never had a run playing as the main striker, which in his time at Reading he always was and scored goals. Early doors he had to settle for the Mama role which he was never going to be up to. Then to rub salt in, Beattie signs and goes straight in as a main striker.

Kitson was bought in to score goals.. He hasn't.. He's had plenty of opportunities but failed to deliver.. All this talk about being 'played out of position' and 'having no support' is ridiculous... He's had plenty of chances to prove himself against Premiership and lower-league clubs.. Sell him now and lose 4 million... Loan him out and there's a chance he'll get injured.. So we've got no other option but to keep him and say our Prayers and hope that a miracle occurs...

For me he has rareley looked happy here , that could be due to things going badly on the pitch or off it , I thought he was a cracking signing but his unhappiness has come through in his performances at times. I would like to see him turn it around because I still think he is a good player , however if pompey would swap a player like nugent for him, I would snap their hand off

Alan Nixon's done the story for the People. He always seems more in-the-know than some, and less prone to fairy stories.
Portsmouth are making a move for Stoke's misfiring Dave Kitson - in case a massive bid comes in for Peter Crouch.
Tony Adams has made an initial inquiry for the former Reading hitman, who has failed to fire under Tony Pulis, but still has a good top-flight reputation as a hard-working forward.
Stoke are not pushing Kitson out of the door and will look for a big fee before selling.
However Pompey are in the market for players and may make the plunge at about £3m
They are also keeping tabs on £5m-rated Theofanis Gekas of Leverkusen, after failing to land Lukas Podolski, who favoured a move back to Cologne. This has forced Adams to turn his attention to Kitson and Gekas.
