Ratings:
Sorensen - 7 Wilkinson - 8 Shawcross - 9 Faye - 8 Pugh - 8
Delap - 6 Whelan - 7 Faye - 8 Etherington - 8
Beattie - 9
Fuller - 7 Subs:
Griffin - 6 Cresswell - 7 Sonko - 6
What an absolute bloody joke of a referee. He could have prevented that incident with the red card by sending off Kompany for elbowing Faye in the head on the halfway line. Faye needed extensive treatment and it was a straight red, no question. The referee was reluctant to even stop play. Even then, he should have stopped play for the Wright-Phillips attack on Whelan and perhaps even sent him off. The very last thing he should have done was send Delap off, that was the last possible decision he could have made. Red cards for the players who ran in to smack Delap in the face, red card to Wright-Phillips, but Delap? He wants striking off the lists, but I bet we don't get the damn thing rescinded and that WILL cost us.
Robinho was crap. His performance was typified in the first half, when he did stepovers in front of Delap, who just stood with his hands on his hips waiting for him to give the ball away, which he did. Home support crippling the opposition's best player again, a la the diving tart in the other half of Manchester.
Beattie was excellent, Cresswell did his job, Shawcross was immense and the goal was very well taken.
I'm off to watch it on Sky now.

The ref was pretty poor, but, he could have given a penalty right at the end, it looked to me that griffin clipped the city player, anyone see it on TV ? i was convinced the ref was going to point to the spot, thankfully he pointed for a goal kick .

yeah it wasn't a pen. clumsy challenge, but he didn't really touch him, he went down of his own accord.
we looked SO vulnerable with Griffin in the side though. they ran rings round him

lil-faye was headed in the head, not elbowed. Griff was not quick enough to clip Richards (though it was close) SWP should have been yellowed for the tackle (before Rory lost the plot) I agree with the marks, apart from Pugh, who'd I'd have put on a par with Ryan. Enjoy watching it on Sky ah

Modified; Sorry , i'm a bit tipsy n slow at the moment. ;D I'm also in agreement with you over the,"SWP should have been yellowed for the tackle (before Rory lost the plot)", comment, spot on mate. ;D

Forgot to say - great credit to the players for their professionalism, because if I were on the pitch I'd have probably ended Wright-Phillips' career.

MD, just one (surely?) mistake you make. Beats and Ric the same marks?! The former didn't lose his boots, (taking ages to replace them and run off the pitch for five minutes) or give up. He kept going and gave his all.

Many apologies, I meant to give Beattie a 9. I'll edit that now.
Fuller didn't lose his boots. They were ripped off his foot, I saw them in front of me with the backs torn to shreds. It was a poor early tackle on him.
