surely thats the way every transfer begins. One manager phones other manager. Not exactly earth shattering is it.

Got to be Harry, its probably Jenus, hence the moving of the post!

Jenus would be a class signing.

Sounds like desperation to me. They are obviously struggling to bring in any of their remaining targets. Think January signings have been good for us so far, but we seem to be having problems getting any more.

Dont think for a minute that Jenus would be a target, The sentinel report of the two from Boro sounds the most likely outcome particularly since Pulis has worked with O'Neil before and had Riggot on loan

We are in need of full backs, on the way back from Spurs the other night, and they said with the signing of Chimbonda, this left them 4 international right backs (Chimbonda, Corluka, Hutton and Gunter).
We need one, got to be worth an enquiry?

Corluka, would be out of our price range especially when you take into account wages, however Hutton is a possibility, not sure how Denmarks number 1 would take the potential signing of him though.

One was told all last week when our lot were on holiday. In no uncertain terms, that Pulis will be conducting his transfer actives over the phone whilst in Dubai. If this were so then please enlighten me why he his still on the fucking phone now to players.

If this were so then please enlighten me why he his still on the fucking phone now to players. he usually makes about 500 phone calls before committing to signing a player, thats what Coates said anyway

The fact that he has been on the phone today asking about players would indicate that nothing is imminant. Expect two in and two out come monday night but nothing before.

Once more we have to swallow the bollocks that we cannot get players because their clubs do not want to release them.
Well we are looking at the wrong players then! Look at some different ones, maybe ones that are strong enough to tell you to take a running jump when you try to prevent them from passing the ball.

After the early and good signings of Etherington and Beattie, I think Pulis now is back to what we've got used to. He's chasing targets he can't get and probably end up with nothing, or it'll be panic buys at the very end.
It seems he wants to bring in players with PL experience, but who does he expect to get? Teams we fight against won't sell, players from the best teams won't join us orwe can't afford them. The players in the Championship who previously have played in the PL aren't good enough or are too old. Pulis will never learn his lesson, he's just doing the same mistake over and over again. He's very lucky to have a patient chairman to back him, but i think Pulis will waste his money again if we buy more players in this window now.
The way to go is abroad.

To be fair luke - I think he is looking in the right places. Players from abroad are a massive gamble. I just hope his moan today isn't a real reflection of what is going on. I don't want him ot hold out for players we will not get. If the clubs won't sell, move on.

Well MrMagic, I hope you're right, as he has used too much time resulting in nothing now. I'm not sure foreign players are a bigger gamble than Soares, Tonge and Kitson.

I think that Kitson is good enough, as is Tonge. Soares needs to develop. It's not the players, it's the way we play. Kitson is not used to his strengths, and Tonge is not seen as strong or defensive enough by Pulis.
