On paper there's no doubt that we have the most agreeable run-in. However, we can't just look forward at the moment. We are on the cusp of a dreadful run of results and there's no guarantee we'll suddenly start winning the games we hope to win.
Fingers crossed that we do but we can't just assume it while our form, especially away from home, remains so unproductive.

Smudge, could we be on a dreadful run because our last fixtures have been Spurs (a), Chelski (a) L'pool (h) West Ham (form team?) (a) and Utd (h) ?

Continually setting ourselves up to 'accidently' get a result away from home will see us relegated, I'm afraid.

must sdmit, i do feel a little bit brighter today now that we have got "that god awful" run of matches out of the way.
however bad its been for us this last week or three, we are still well and truely hanging in there. hopefuly we are now entering a series of matches which i think are winnable, starting with man c this weekend (ever the optimist me) mildly confident now after seeing the run-in. having said that, it's the "easier" games we seem to struggle with.
hold on to your hats!!

I still think we have a hell of a lot more fight than a lot of the teams around us, and our squad of players will be more willing to enter into a dogfight to avoid relegation.
We also still have a lot of players who have experienced high pressure games, think how many of these we had at the end of last season. I know its slightly different being in a promotion fight rather than a relegation, but if anything the pressure was greater last year, particularly from the Stoke supporters themselves. Everyone realises that it was always going to be tough, so I feel we are more likely to go all out in our support for each game, that will only benefit our cause. The likes of Newcastle, Boro and Pompey don't have that impetus, there fans will be booing at every oppotunity as they shouldn't be in that situation with the players that they have.

Stoke have always been an "underdog" club though. For as long as Ive been watching us (22 years) we always do well against the top teams and lose to the dross at the bottom. This has happened again this year - wins against Arsenal, draws with Liverpool, and terrible results against Blackburn, and Bolton. Yes, on paper, a good run in. In reality they are all tough games that we could easily come a cropper in.

Smudge, could we be on a dreadful run because our last fixtures have been Spurs (a), Chelski (a) L'pool (h) West Ham (form team?) (a) and Utd (h) ? Possibly, but then the bad run has also included... Hartlepool, Derby, Blackburn, Newcastle, Hull and Fulham. Let's tell the whole story please. By the way, why are we building Spurs up into some sort of super team? They had gone seven league games without a win before they played us and had only scored EIGHT goals at home all season - the lowest in the Premier League!
