Wembley i'm very disappointed in your attitude to this, especially if you have a friend with Parkinson's
You have made your point now and I haven't see one person agree with you yet, so if you can leave your opinions to yourself then that would be great.
P.S. We are also getting a DVD of the event that costs £90 (that is coming out of our own pocket too.)

I just asked you to prove it is all.
If you cannot see that the principal is the same as asking someone to pay for my holiday and any left over money going to charity is not my problem.
Too much charity collecting is not always for the whole or even majority benefit of the charity these days. Read the small print on most of the jumble bags that get pushed through the door and you will see for yourself.

I'd let him carry on Padders, the more he does, the more people will view, the more sponsors you get.
Let him talk his drivel.

Guys Thank you all that have sponsored me and rest assured that all monies will go to the charity. I am completing the jump because this world is far to full of people who do things for themselves and don't think about the people in life that are unfortunate enough to be cursed by illness's that there are no cures for. Wembley as far as you are concerned then if you agree to sponsor me I will gladly provide proof that I am paying the cost of the jump totalling £290 of which I have already paid £80 deposit. However I would ask that if you have enough money to go on a "Golfing Holiday" that you put your money where your mouth is and donate generously! It is people like you that makes this world a sad place to be, some of us wantto do the right thing and help whoever we can, this is not the first thing I have done for charity and certainly won't be the last! All in all you are an incredibly selfish person that clearly thinks of no-one other than himself!
Once again a MASSIVE thank you to all that have sponsored me and sent there good wishes.
Wembley I pity you!
Steph

OK this is a great cause as we all know and in this case Steph is paying for everything herself and all donations go to charity so I hope you have a great day and padders i hope your dad is OK and still managing to enjoy life with this horrible illness. That being said i can see where wembley is coming from. There are plenty of occasions where i have been asked for charity donations where it is basically someone trying to get their jump paid for as they've always wanted to do it and whatever is over goes to charity. Of course you rarely find out how much over is raised and how much 'actually' went to charity. They of course get a free jump and have a great time. Seems pretty clear to me though that this isn't the case here so wembley you've made your point, there are plenty of scammers out there but we're all grown-up enough to make our own minds up thanks

Wow. If this is the case Steph you have my respect for doing something so crazy. Sadly I have met too many people who have done this because they want to go parachute jumping and by doing a 'charity' jump it's miraculously paid for if they raise some money, and are subsidised (paid for).
As I said earlier I like my money to go to the charities of my choice which is why I pay every month through the bank.
I may be an old cynic but then again I was a young cynic but I do not need your pity and your conclusion about me is very wide of the mark.

Prove it and take back your exceptionally cynical comments and apologise. Yes some people do this type of thing for nothing and yes I had the opportunity however I didn't take it. Try seeing the good in people before the bad and maybe the world will be a happier place!

I don't understand this argument. This girl's got balls (well sort of!) and we should be thanking her, not hurling abuse.
Enjoy the jump (well the bit after landing) and good luck to Padders' Dad; he's not the only one who will be shaking on Saturday.
I've donated and the gobshite's on this thread should too.
