Does anyone else who went to Chelsea think Danny Pugh deserves a place in centre mid because I thought after faye went off he gave us so much more.
Very comfortable on the ball, quicker than most of what we've got and gets stuck in!
IMHO i thought he was brilliant in the middle for us on Satdee.

I thought he was brilliant on Saturday and he's barely let us down in his handful of games this season.
I wouldn't drop Faye for him because I think Amdy is really beginning to show his true class. In my mind, Pulis' decision to make the substitution was spot on.
If Amdy had been sent off (which he would have been with the next foul he made) it would have been real curtains for us!
Pughy does have a future at this club and not many people would have believed that six weeks ago!!

Totally agree mate sub was spot on because Amdy was flying in like a loooooon!
Amdy has, like you said, been improving with each game recently so I don't say drop him but after Satdee (for me) it would be hard not to give Pugh at starting place.
Also, been said numerous times but how the f**k did we get Abdoulaye Faye!!!! Legend already in my eyes!!!

In my opinion a Pugh / Diao partneship is the best we have at the club, both players are the only central midfielders we have who dont panic when they get the ball and can control the tempo.

I'll admit that two months ago I was happy to see Pugh in the reserves and I was expecting him to leave the club. I thought he was a decent player but not good enough for us to stay up, but on his recent performances, especially in the Chelsea match I in which think he was excellent in the centre and he's got to worth a decent shout to keep that spot for the next match on that performance.
He's a excellent squad player and I'd be disappointed to see him leave now, I think he's proven he's got something to offer the side. Like dazscfc said himself, comfortable on the ball, offered a bit of pace on the counter attacks and got stuck in!
I still don't think Pulis will play him in the centre at the minute but I hope it at least gave him something to think about!
Well done Danny, it goes to show - like with Shawcross and Whelan - that you can soon fight your way back into the side and TP's plans if you want it enough.

I think the best game he played was at centre mid against Newcastle at home.

He also played well in the centre against Watford last season.

I Like Pugh, have since he came over last year. The last 2-3 games he has played well. Will Mama is out would mind seeing him in midfield with Delap and Etherington and Lawrence on the wings

I thought he was a candidate for outfield MOM on Saturday.
But ultimately I still think we need somebody with more quality in the centre of the park.
His versatility and his work ethic make him an excellent player to have on the bench as he can cover centre mid and the left flank, I really hope he has a future with us.
There really is no excuse to pick Cresswell ahead of him in the left midfield position if Etheringotn isn't available.

Danny is a decent central midfielder who has been done a great disservice by being played at left back and left midfield in his time at Stoke.
His best games for us have all been in the centre (Newcastle, Watford, Chelsea) and he should be competing for a role there with Salif, Amdy, Rory and Glenn.
BTW, what has happened to Olofinjana? Is he injured or just totally out of favour?
