Mido has rejected claims he could join Turkish side Besiktas but hinted he could leave Middlesbrough. "If Boro agreed to sell me to an English club then I will go, otherwise I am staying for now," he said. I posted on here a couple of weeks back, that a Boro season ticket holder, had told me that we had enquired about Mido. He reckoned Mido want's out because Boro have been linked with Fletcher of Hibs who we were rumoured to be linked with.
He also added that there are a lot of very unhappy players at Boro and that he fears the worst for this season.

Mido seems to start off well at a club and then lose form after a while. On his day he is great but he has too many off days/weeks/months. Whether TP could add some consistency I don't know - but it would be a risk finding out.
EDIT - maybe a loan with an option to buy - but how much would that cost?

He doesn't really seem a typical TP sort of player does he.

Not at all Mat. He will probably leave in a strop after twelve months. He usually does pretty well initially at a new club though. Five goals between now and May could be enough to keep us up.

Beattie, a big strong center forward, I would have thought was a TP sort of player, not Ethers though

neither does ethers or even BT for that matter! Beattie is very much a TP-type IMHO.

We had a few rumours from posters at the start of Jan but it's gone quiet on him recently. Still only 25 and has a lot of talent but his attitude seems poor at times. When he signed for Boro he was also in talks with Birmingham but his wages demands and clauses he wanted in the contract meant the deal fell through. He is 6"2, powerful so ticks those boxes, been sent off, been criticized for his training attitude (Ronald Koeman), called "irresponsible and disrespectful" by Martin Jol, thrown scissors at a teamate (Zlatan Ibrohimovic), fined for speeding, reacted badly at being substituted and thrown out of the Egypt team...plsu numerous injuries which recently included a fracture to the pubic bone I can't really see him being a Pulis player, just too much baggage and I don't think he's a relegation fight type...plus we all know Pulis likes to put them through their paces in training! For me I'd be very surprised if he came here.

I think he is a class act when at his best but he is very hot and cold so who knows which we would get but i think he would be worth a gamble as Tone is generally good with these types of players

I've never really rated him from when he was at Spurs probably could be AS GOOD as what we have but not better and can't really see where he'd fit in
