www.whydelilah.co.uk/news/15_Jan_2009/Stoke+City+to+appoint+Walsall+youth+team+boss.htmlSTOKE City are set to announce Walsall's youth team boss Mick Halsall as their new Academy manager. Halsall has tendered his resignation at Walsall ahead of his proposed unveiling at the Britannia Stadium. The 47 year-old coach, a long-time employee at Walsall, leaves The Bescot Stadium just six months after signing a new three-year contract. As a player, he made his name with Peterborough and later managed The Posh for 37 matches between October 1996 and July 1996. Halsall will replace George Foster at Stoke following his departure last month to work for Glenn Hoddle's Spain-based football academy for rejected youth-team players.

Is he the new Academy chief?
Looks like they think he's been poached or something and may be looking for some compo?

I remember he was always a niggly Scouse so-and-so when he used to play against us for Peterborough.

So he'll last a long time then with TP's "no substitute for experience" philosophy! Maybe we should employ Alan "you can't win anything with kids" Hansen instead? ;D

I'm sure we'll pay compo - but I doubt it will be a huge amount.
I suppose one or two of Walsall's youngsters may follow him up the M6? What is the position with youngsters who don't yet have professional contracts moving clubs?

How things change
Him and Bertie had 'handbags' that great night down in East Anglia and was pretty disliked by most Stokies at the time.
