He is due for a medical shortly, he would be an excellent signing and one I would have thought we had a chance with... Saying that, he was on 40k/week before a bigger contract in Spain!
They are also after Whitehead

Tango has been unleashed into the transfer market, so keep them targets quiet TP.
I see Tango is after:
Boa Morte Kilbane Whitehead Finnian
and whoever Stoke may have targeted.

don't think those 4 are really up to much - might be an improvement on what they've got at the moment though

He'd be an excellent short-term signing.
But we could do with a bit more youth in the squad. Most of our squad seem to be 29+.

hats off to tango man, good signing for them that would be, would'nt be dissapointed to see him at stoke, but we are hardly in a position to moan about it are we given our activity allready.
maybe we should try and hijack the move for finnan though at a bargain of £1.5m. Give hull a taste of their own medicene ;D
works aaard finnan does

Absolutely amazing signing for Hull if true.
Redknapp was in for him around Christmas time and was told by Espanyol that he had no chance.
He's had a few injuries sincing leaving Liverpool, but at 1 mil that has surely got be one of the bargains of this transfer window.

Hull have just completed the signing of Kilbane (good experienced player) but it appears the Boa Morte deal is off.

Don't rate Kilbane! ~Something about him where I think he;s shit! As for Finnan, I think he's a good signing, He's got this season, and half of next where he could do a job... would like see him in a stoke shirt

Fantastic value, when you think he's 50% of Olofinjana, even with a hefty wage.He always seemed one of Liverpool's most consistent, unflappable players, even when his face didn't fit.
He'd definitely improve us considerably for the next 18 months.

Good buy - forget about his age, he'll do a good job which will probably keep them up. Whats that worth?? 60million? Why aren't you lot in for him?

agreed. think the players we have signed are alot better than what hull have signed or are looking to. Kilbane, boa morte and finnan were decent plyers 2-3 years ago but not anymore, hence why kilbane & boa morte couldn't get anywhere near average premiership teams and finnan was sent to play 2nd division football in spain (where he's done nothing). I would take whitehead but he aint leaving sunderland as he is their captain. Beattie and ethrington are good players in their prime and are quite simply awesome signings

I not too sure, he's only played 4 games for Espanyol since he signed, struggling with injuries as well. Nearly 33 so I'd say it's a bit of a gamble, it depends how much that year has taken out of him and how fit he is. It could pay off but it's going to be a while before he's fully match fit and up to speed.
Before his move he only managed 17 appearances for Liverpool that season as well. so 21 games in 2 years.
