I don't think so, Bolton are a well established Prem side that can surely push their wage barrier above 30k for a few players now with consecutive seasons in the Prem. We can push it to 30k for one player but I think Bullard is looking for 50k a week. Elmander signed for 13 Million this season, we couldn't spend 13 million on 1 player! There's no way we could pay 50k a week in our first season in the Prem for anyone. have you seen boltons average attendences recently? they get a similar income from sky that we do so where else do they get this extra money from ?! Bolton are currently averaging 22,389 see here stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/PR/attend.html

I think there is no doubt that if we've got the money available to bring in Ledley than we've have indeed got the money to do the Bullard deal. However as pushon has just said, Bullard's value will decrease and Ledley's value could very well increase. Fuck it, get 'em both!

Yep, they're not a big city team and I doubt their resources are any better than ours. Tone should have established his priorities by now though, Bullards availabilty has been signalled for some time

elmander - hows he been since that wonder fluke against us That was Steinsson And the answer? Pretty poor- he's struggled with form and injuries (he went off at the weekend but not sure how serious the injury was) 35 mins - Bad news for Bolton as Johan Elmander is down with an apparent hamstring problem. It doesn't look good for the Sweden international as he comes off and is replaced by Riga. That's another injury problem for Gary Megson.

I can't find anything online for supposed wages paid to Anelka etc while at Bolton, the only snippet of information I got was that when Okocha was to sign for Bolton (was he on loan first?) he nearly ruined the deal by asking for 70k a week. I guess it must have been lower but I'm guess they paid him at least 50k+?
Add to that they sold both Diouf and Anelka this season who both probably had nice contracts so I think maybe they could pay Bullard 35-50k a week which would rule us out.

I am surprised none of the bigger clubs have come in for him, particuarly the likes of Villa, Man City and Spurs.

What baffles me about this (IF IT HAPPENS) , is that Bullard stated one of his reasons for leaving Wigan was to be nearer his home back in the smoke, to then leave london and sign for the Club 6 miles up the road from wigan will leave them flabergasted and fuming.
Footballers need to come up with better excuses, remember Robbie savage leaving one club for another saying he wanted to be closer to his north wales home, and it turned out the new club was just as far away , but in a different direction

But I agree about Bullard, but he is approaching 30 and probably looking for one last decent contract especially since the England call up, so I guess location doesn't matter too much and maybe no-one down south are so far interested (which is surprising).

Why would his wage demands be too much, he's not exactly played for one of the big four and done a Scott Parker as he, he's been at wigwam probley on something like £10grand when they were in the prem, and then fulham maybe on £20grand, GO FOR HIM PULIS!!!
