How on this Earth is Ledley valued higher than Bullard? I know which fella I would prefer pulling the strings.

If Bolton can afford him then so can we, a much much better player than Ledley.

Bullard is a CLASS act. If we would sign him, he would take over from Beattie as our top earner, he would want/need upwards of 35-40k I would imagine!
If we did manage to land him, I would be a very very happy chappy...

Spot on Mark. His signing would probably ensure Bolton's safety although what it will do for Fulham is another matter...

I don't think so, Bolton are a well established Prem side that can surely push their wage barrier above 30k for a few players now with consecutive seasons in the Prem. We can push it to 30k for one player but I think Bullard is looking for 50k a week. Elmander signed for 13 Million this season, we couldn't spend 13 million on 1 player! There's no way we could pay 50k a week in our first season in the Prem for anyone.

I still think he'll be looking for a decent pay rise anyway, probably 35-40k? Still, if he left for 5 million and Bolton agreed a contract of 25k a week then I would be disappointed. Him or Ledley? No much competition really.

But surely Bolton wouldn't go that high.? They broke the bank on Anelka's salary. But surely he was a one-off. Even people like Elmander who'd been playing for a mid-ranking French team could easily have been attracted by 25-30k.

The goal you're thinking of was Steinsson wasn't it?...the right back? Elmander scored the free header to make it 3-0 when Cort and Shawcross left him free in the box.

Not sure how old Ledley (20?) is but Bullard is 30, so there is that to consider. You wouldn't get a return on Bullard at the end of his contract, but he might be able to guarantee prem survival. Dilemma eh?

Bolton are famous for paying low transfer fees but high wages: okotcha, stelios, ect but in recent seasons they have begun to spend big on fees, they would be able to offer 30/50k on wages i reckon

elmander - hows he been since that wonder fluke against us That was Steinsson And the answer? Pretty poor- he's struggled with form and injuries (he went off at the weekend but not sure how serious the injury was)
