the League is wide open I honestly think it could be ANY 3 (& that includes us) from 10,12 clubs.
Stoke ARE doing the max to avoid the drop though for sure

60% - A little more confident than not.
If that doesn't sound especially optimistic, I was probably at about 25% in August, peaked at 75% in mid-November, and had slipped to 40% on the way home from Wet Sham!

I had a bet with a work colleague (Everton fan) that we would.

It's getting higher, but I still won't be fully convinced until I see us go for 3 points on the road. West ham was an improvement until Ricci lost it but in general we've not been adventurous on the road to stay up, Our home form is spot on.

The bookies (what do they know ?), still have us odds-on to go down. Me, I'd say it's still 50:50.

If things continue the way they are, yes. If Sorro and Ab faye get injured for the rest of the season then its a bit more shakey.

I can't see West Brom staying up. Which would leave a number of clubs fighting to avoid 2 places.
What worries me is the quality of strikers at other clubs. Newcastle have Owen, Viduka, Duff and Martins; Blackburn have Santa Cruz (for the time being) and McCarthy; Sunderland have Cisse and Kenwyne Jones; Middlesboro have Alaves and Downing; Spurs have Defoe, Pav, and Bent; West Ham have Bellamy and Ashton; Pompey have Crouch and the dosh from Defoe; Wigan have Zaki and Heskey. Man City must be able to spend their way out of trouble.
Our recent buys have improved our squad but I still look at the quality of some of these players and think we come up short. Hopefully the likes of Santa Cruz, Bellamy and Downing will be lured away.
Pompey might have trouble recruiting and have the worst manager in the league. Hull are lacking quality and I hope they will be found out in the second half of the season. It's definitely going to be close all the way.

Pretty confident, only 1 top 4 side left to play after Saturday, so a fairly decent run in, as long as we keep picking up the points in the home games we should be near enough there, along with a couple of draws and maybe even a win on the road.
Goaaarnnnnnnn Stoke

Man City must be able to spend their way out of trouble. all the newcastle players you mention are injury prone.. and 2 of 4 currently injured i think blackburn may keep santa cruz, but he's hardly been outstanding this season anyway - mccarthy and roberts are getting on and inconsistent sunderland are a bit unknown really, if jones and cisse start firing then i reckon they'll get out of the mire boro are shite, southgate is shite, alves is shite and downing wants to jump ship spurs, wigan and man city are too good to get relegated (hasn't that been siad before?) pompey are in freefall. crouch needs a decent partner to be effective and as it stands i think they've only got nugent and kanu as options.... doubt they'll be splashing out either TBH still reckon itll be down to us, baggies, hull, blackburn, boro and pompey... maybe west ham if they lose bell-end-y got a really decent chance if we can get our home form back on track... plenty of points to be won

Not very. We'll probably need two away wins -almost certainly one and a few draws- even if we do well at home. Until I can be convinced that we will be victorious on our travels, I won't be confident.
I wouldn't absolutely count West Brom out either. They are winning at home and Simpson looks very useful indeed. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that they could be above us on Saturday night, and in much better current form.

I am pretty confident and we've given ourselves a tremendous platform with the two signings (plus more) that we have made/are making.
However, like hch, I'm struggling to find three worse teams than us although it is certainly possible.
West Brom are on the rise but I reckon we are better than them.
Middlesbrough are in a terrible period of form and could, quite easily, fall through the trap door.
As for the remainder, it becomes tough. Newcastle and Spurs surely have too much to go down (Owen, Bentley, Duff, Defoe et al) while Big Sam will keep Rovers up.
Ricky Sbragia is inexperienced as a manager but has started pretty well at Sunderland. If they go on a bad run though, it will be interesting to see how he copes with it all.
Pompey are a side who I believe can get sucked down. Adams seems out of his depth (we knew that before he took the job) and last night they were outplayed by Bristol City.
I know it's easy to say but Hull are an interesting side too. Obviously they had that great start but they could very quickly drop like a stone. They can't buy points at the moment and I'm not sure what Boa Morte will bring to them to be honest. They are currently six points above us and the longer time moves on the bigger our match in May is looking.
Chuck in Bolton into the equation (Elmander was taken off injured at the weekend but not sure how serious) and there are a few sides who are seriously contemplating relegation.
Come the end of the season we will be there or thereabouts but Coates' ambition is giving us as supporters and the World a real indication that we believe we can survive.
We can do it!

I'd probably agree with Dexter about confidence, I started thinking we'd probably just get relegated, was more confident we'd stay up after our good start, confidence dipped fairly low after West Ham but it now on the move again with our new signings. It's been a rollercoaster already and if I know Stoke City it won't be any other way until the last day.
Almost every team in the bottom half could be in a relegation battle if they hit a bad run, although I think Newcastle and Spurs both have the underlying quality to see them out of the mire (I really can't see any team with Michael Owen in getting relegated)

I have got a strong feeling we will finish in the top 12. Alot of clubs will stuggle this year, i think we will defo finish above, sunderland, west brom, blackburn, bolton, west ham, newcastle, portsmouth, middlesborough & hull. Have faith i think we'll go on a very good run of results soon like like hull did early in the season!
