i dont want to laugh at sheffield united either, BUT they are in the championship because they deserve to be there, they were sometihng like 10 points clear of west ham with 8 games to go and all thay had to do was draw with wigan at home on the last day of the season........im sorry but they fully deserved to go down, total self destruction There's an element of truth to what you say, but West Ham should have been relegated, given that they were kept up by the goals of a player who shouldn't have been eligible to play. i fully understand what your saying....its just a generally very messy affair int it

Met some blades fan today and they reckon we have a steal with Beattie - "he is our best player and you have got him on the cheap"

If Sheff United are paying at least treble that, then they really are being ripped off!

It's almost analogous to when Peschisolido was sold and we lost out in the play offs.
Not exactly, but just a little bit like it, know what I mean?

Dito an earlier comment...2 mates are Sheff based Blades fans. 1 says he is gutted that he has left, and thinks it will put the brakes on any chance that they had for Play Offs. 2 one wants to report Stoke to the FA for theft!

just been reading through that and they genuinely are a bigger club than us, maybe they are - in sheffield. The amount of comments like "cant beleive we lost our best player to a club like stoke" etc....Deluded pricks If attendance is any measure of who is the bigger club, take a look at Sheffield's figures. Think we've mugged them for BT at that price. I live near their ground, so best no wear my stoke top for a few weeks.

There's an element of truth to what you say, but West Ham should have been relegated, given that they were kept up by the goals of a player who shouldn't have been eligible to play. i fully understand what your saying....its just a generally very messy affair int it The whole Tevez affair is. Was that last game of the season for West Ham as dodgy as it appeared on the surface? How is the deal between the third party and Manchester United suddenly legal? Why did the Premier League and FA not look further into West Ham's assurances that they had all the correct paperwork etc? There are a million questions.

I dont buy all this Tevez/West Ham/Sheff U bollocks. If Sheff Utd had beaten Wigan, also threatened with relegation if they had only drawn, at HOME, then Sheff U would have stayed up. They only needed a point, at HOME to a team that would have gone down if they failed to win. Fuck all to do with West Ham, as Wigan were in a worst state than them. SGS

SGS I agree to a point, I've just said similar on another thread, but it was disgusting that West Ham were saved by goals scored by an ineligible player.

Ilford you wound them up big style and I'm inclined to agree with their comparisons with Kitson -I reckon they could have expected 4/5 million. Still that's life -let's move on

Check out 'The Official Farewell James Beattie Thread on the site. Boy, the comments about his scoring and the type of genuine bloke he is are mouthwatering! With service from Ethers we are hopefully going to get the type of goalscorer we have been dreaming of. I SO hope so!!!! boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=463&fid=221&sty=2
