Its funny as fuck ;D, I tried to prepare them, by asking them to justify the £6M they thought he was worth, but they just said pay up or shut up, so I left them to the delusions ...... couldn't help but say i told you so tonight mind boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=463&fid=221&sty=2

I'm absolutely amazed they've taken a loss on a player who they only signed eighteen months ago and has been brilliant for them since.

I cant laugh at sheffield united
for they should still be in the premiership rather than West Ham
however, it appears to have worked in our favour at this juncture
I take some small comfort from the fact that at least some of our 'ill gotten gains' are finding their way back into the league system from whence we came rather than - some foreign shyster agents back pocket !

However, they are still laughing about the £2M we paid for Tonge!
Probably quits now that we have a good deal for Beattie. ;D

Dave, I am tempted to go on their board and tell them you are Dave Kemp and so had inside knowledge of the negotiations. ;D

That's quite funny.
I think we would overprice Fuller or Lawrence though.
Or Abdoulaye.

The Blades fans are just worried that Tony's part-exed Cresswell for Beattie !
Perhaps they should be worried that Tony's given them Pericard for free !

I'm absolutely amazed they've taken a loss on a player who they only signed eighteen months ago and has been brilliant for them since. Weird isn't it? They gamble by signing a player for big money, the gamble being that he will get them the goals to get them into the Prem. The gamble appears to be paying off. He's on fire, they're in the play offs, so what do they do? They go and sell him, for, erm ... LESS than they paid for him! Imagine if it was us? We'd be storming the Waddo suite!

I suppose he's only worth what the market will pay. But I think he does look decidedly cheap at this price. Maybe their keenness to remove his monster wages forced the issue.

my soft spot for them disappeared when Warnock's teams came to town.
A bigger bunch of classless plums I've not seen on a football pitch.

I think they have messed up on his wages and run the risk of finacial problems if they don't go up and continue to pay him. reading between the lines thats my thoughts anyways.

I imagine the add ons will relate to JB scoring and us staying up so if we have to pay the extra money it's because we've guaranteed the extra loot that comes with staying up. Happy days!

It seems too good to be true tbh but hey, i'm not complaining ;D...
I can't understand why they'd sell their best, top-scoring striker for 2.5 mill, possibly 3.5 mill if there wasn't someting in it for them.
I just don't understand it. Am I missing something that the Sheffield united board aren't???
Btw, a few rumours about players leaving in an exchange for Beattie have been flying around. I'm takin them as just being rumours but could someone shed some light on it? It would be daft exchanging someone other than Pericard, cresswell, Pugh or Demar phillips tbh.

just been reading through that and they genuinely are a bigger club than us, maybe they are - in sheffield.
The amount of comments like "cant beleive we lost our best player to a club like stoke" etc....Deluded pricks

Up to two years ago Stoke City would have sold their top scorer in similar circumstances. As a Stoke fan for over thirty years I’ve never been able to understand why.

Makes a nice change (for us) not to have the Board flooded with fans of the other team telling us what a donkey we have signed. ;D ;D
It almost takes me back to the day we first signed Huddy. ;D ;D
I could quite get used to signing players I have heard of! ;D

But HOW are we affording his "monster" wages ??
and he is 31 in 3 weeks time, and very slow, so £2.5-3.5 mill seems a lot to me anyway

They're not very happy over in Sheffield are they? Hope their disappointment is justified and Beattie gives us a goal every other game as well.
