I was in a hotel near to gatwick last night, a company called novo Pharmaceuticals (may be de novo) have virtually taken over the place for a month, doing a big training drive, looks like a lot of new employees. Lots of nice young sales staff, a lot of nice ladies, I was chatting to one nice lady from Leek.
They must be having a big recruitment thing going on.

No more jobs on offer?? the amount of jobs on offer is awful sal. i used the electronic job boards yesterday at the jobcentre, there was no more than 10 new jobs added within the last 2 weeks, added to the fact i've been getting fucked around by agencies AGAIN advertising jobs that don't exist.  |

Went yesterday to try get on an apprenticeship and I was told 5 people have been layed off, its fucking rediculous. More doorknocking tommorrow I suppose  |

16 year old lad who goes to air cadets with my lad has an interview today for an apprentice accountants job in Knutsford, he knocks spots off my lad for enthusiasm and attitude in finding a job though There is jobs out there still, although they are looking a bit specialsied at present, they were interviewing at my place last week for post graduates, I didn't know until I saw them waiting. I'm sure estate agents will be taking on again soon |

Ive been out of work since January, and basically worked most of my life. The last time I was out of work was 2001, but in fairness there were a number of jobs available then, so it didnt take me long to get back into work after redundancy.
This time its been bloody difficult, ive been on courses, had jobs promised me, but they never came off. The ones I were interested in where 25 hours only. In the dole office the other day under THIS WEEKS JOBS,there were two locally.
Anyway at last it looks like im going to be employed as a careworker..I know this wont suit a lot of folks, but they are the only jobs that seem to be always advertised of late, and this is very well paid..
Just waiting for the CRB check, done my training so should not be long now.

Its a load of shit mate. I started in a warehouse in Stafford the other week. I have never before felt like a stranger in my own country. I shit you not it is like I have moved to Poland. It turns out that one of the bosses has a few houses so he employs the poles and then rents them his houses. They are the most ignorant wankers I have ever met. They stand around in groups speaking Polish. They then give you dirty looks if you dare to try and get past them. FUCK OFF HOME IF YOU DONT WANT TO FIT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The jobs OK but I hate the environment. It will do until I can find something else though. |

That house renting scam is a real classic I think, not surprised the Poles don't feel like mixing if they're being ripped off at both ends.... so then it's not surprising the Brits reckon the Poles are ignorant wankers if that's how they're behaving... ay building jobs going? can lay bricks neat, am qualified just not served my time, can drive a telehandler but my tickets just ran out, can plaster to c aertain extent ( just done my own place its come up real good) can do all sorts of building work. This country is Shite, how the hell are you supposed to make a decent living...... or even a living for that matter |

last summer i was out of work and it really is depressing, this is my 3rd day since being made redundant and im already thinking about shooting my face off.
problem is, any half decent job has about 50 applicants. ive worked in architectual offices for the last 3 years of my working life without having any qualifications, both of them have gone under, so now im stuck with alot of knowledge but nothing to show for it, so obviously my c.v. gets put in the "no" pile straight away.
so yeh, giz us a job.
