Something puzzled me about Carragher yesterday. When Liverpool were attacking he often ran up the line OFF THE PITCH. I always thought that a player who went off the pitch had to get the referee's permission to return. The first time I saw him do it I thought it must be a mistake but after that first time I saw him do it three or four more times in the first half. From where I sit in the Boothen couldn't really see if he did it in the second half.

I guess it could improve the angle if you are running back onto the pitch to receive the ball - not so flat footed
Danger is that passes could be overhit to you

True, that could be the reason - but it still seems to be against the laws of the game to me. Apart from anything else you run the risk of stopping the assistant ref doing his job properly - although many of them fail to do that without having any excuse! ;D

Carragher got up pretty quickly and didn't make a fuss at all when he got chopped by Ethers, which won him some Brownie points off me.

Carragher I think is one of the old school footballers and I have a lot of time for him...a good pro and will remain loyal to liverpool through his career. He usually tells it as he sees it and his call to wanker durham was top draw to put the little shit back in his box. He also did the right thing by walking away from Mclarens england squad...I mean if you were being overlooked constantly for Wes foookin Brown I think you would eventually say thats enough.
