Hats off to Garagher on Sky today; when asked whether he saw it as 2 pts dropped, he replied, “All credit to the way Stoke played we could have lost, and may well see this as a point gained come the end of the season” Think MOTD coverage has been acceptable this year. They have always, and will always concentrate more attention on the top teams; having said that we have had our fair share of coverage.. If a big team loses or draws to one of the lesser teams, it will always be because they had an off day.. The MOTD team have failed, though, to see that lots of teams are having off-days at the Brit.

"Second half was mainly all Liverpool"
Not from my seat it wasn't.
We were the better team for an hour of that match. Better energy, wanted it more, good chances.
Liverpool's line-up and set-up showed either a frightening lack of respect for us, or were they happy with the point they got? Never ever felt truly threatened tbh. Would have beena travesty if they'd have won it.

To be honest as shite as tee BBC coverage is, it's ten times better than Sky and the national press. It's the way that from the start, all reports I've seen say that, Stoke held Liverpool to a draw. This puts in peoples heads that we were under the cosh and playing with a ten man defence. In truth Liverpool held us to a draw. I know these little things are really anal but every report you read is littered with them, with a small comment on how we probably deserved a point.

I aggree with all the above posts. Must have been editted by someone from Liverpool and what can you do when one of the pundits used to play for Liverpool? All one sided and not a true refelection on the game ... i hope they read the what the papers as this was a better refelection than the BBC's view on things.

Kitsons header was probably the best chance of the game so amazing that they didnt show that, but i quite like it that they dont like us

Agreed, it was shocking coverage. There wasn't even any replays of Rorys thunderbolt against the bar or Ryans disallowed goal. Garbage punditry basically based on Liverpool's apparent failings and Rafa's outburst. Even the paper reports said nothing about the game, just purely on Rafa Benitez.
Im very quickly beginning to hate MOTD and if Lineker mentions Rorys long throws as our only asset I swear I'll rip his ears off. Jug eared tosser.
Rant over

Why didn't they show Kitson's header which nearly ended in the back of the net? thats what i said to my brother while watching it, i come to the conclusion that they dont want to see 'ruff & tumble route one Stoke' have to many chances against their mighty liverpool,

I just dont watch MOTD any more
Havent missed a home game, and been a couple of away games (hard to get away early enough from work on a Saturday), but usually manage to watch away games on a live stream
Saturday night is spent in the pub for me, and I get up early Sunday morning and enjoy Football First, which in fairness, gives you enough of the game to make a decent judgement of the days proceedings
Sky have taken football coverage to extra heights, and MOTD is now a poor mans show IMO
I appreciate that not everyone has got Sky TV, but unless we are involved in a Big 4 game, we are unlikely to have more than a couple of minutes on MOTD anyway

To be fair to Liverpool TV (just watching the full re run, almost finished) the 2 commentators are giving us loads of praise and saying if anyone is about to score it looks like Stoke

Good post anarch_56 get it sent Thanks. It was sent yesterday. I don't know if anyone else sent a complaint in, but the MOTD2 coverage was better balanced tonight- 4 Stoke chances, 2 Liverpool - although that isn't a fair reflection either because I thought it was an evenly balanced game and a draw was a fair result. They also still haven't shown Gerrard's arrogant booking. Still, things are moving in the right direction. Now all we need are pundits who actually WATCH the games.

Good post anarch_56 get it sent I don't know if anyone else sent a complaint in, but the MOTD2 coverage was better balanced tonight- 4 Stoke chances, 2 Liverpool. are you sure, the showed gerards 2 chances late on, and other liverpool chances, I'm no mathematician but I think the chances of 2 + A (where is A is known to be a positive integer) = 2 are pretty slim

I thought it was amusing that Shearer claimed that he'd been expecting Hull to falter and that it was always going to happen. Only a few weeks ago -after they'd drawn at Anfield- he was telling us how Hull's success was no fluke and that they'd continue to fly high.
Shearer was a great player and I don't dislike him as a bloke but he's a terrible pundit!

Linekar was concerned that Maradonna might "regard the game as typical of the premier league". Why worry about the opinions of a coke snorting handball specialist.

Also, I'd like to add my name to the lost of those who can't understand for even one seopcnd how they didn't show Kitson's headed onto the roof of the net from Rory's long through. It was one of the key moments of the match!?

it's a complete joke that Shearer is a pundit on such a popular highlights program. His lack of tactical understanding as a player mean that he has very little to offer when analysing. I mean, you could understand it if he were a player who played a role that required a good understanding of play, but this is a guy who simply booted it as hard as he could when he got the ball. Being an effective player seems to qualify you for punditry. Why do they have to have ex-players analysing it when there are coaches and even journalists that would have a better, and unbiased, appreciation of the match, and also offer insights that aren't blantantly obvious ('two banks of four!')?

what about the "move of the match" in the sun?? the last minute 70 yard "pass" which fell to gerrard who hit the post---if it was a stoke "move" they would have said "stoke's long ball game tested liverpool's defence a couple of times"!!

Dear Mr salop Thanks for your e-mail regarding 'Match of the Day' broadcast on 10 January. I understand you feel we should've featured an incident in the Stoke City v Liverpool match where Steven Gerrard kicked the ball away and got a yellow card. I note you feel showing this would've been a balance to the negative coverage you feel 'Match of the Day' routinely gives Stoke City. If I may take a moment to address your concerns, the highlights shown in each edition is determined by the day's big stories and talking points. Our editors have to choose what they feel will add the most to the highlights package and on many cases this means excluding yellow cards. Impartiality is the cornerstone of all our output and on 'Match of the Day' there's certainly no bias to denigrate or promote any particular team, and we're sorry you feel this is the case with Stoke City. I appreciate you may continue to feel this way and so I'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that I've recorded your comments onto our audience log. This is an internal daily report of audience feedback which is circulated to many BBC staff including senior management, producers and channel controllers. We're committed to developing better links with you, our audience, to further enhance our understanding of your viewing and listening needs. Thanks once again for contacting us with your concerns. Regards Ciaran McConnell BBC Complaints
