my mate is south african (raised in Australia and Switzerland as well) and for some reason she insists on calling roundabouts "Circles". Confuses the hell out of me if she has to give me directions.

How about the, 'nobody in a BMW, Audi or 4x4 thinks they should use the proper lane' roundabout.
See, they are more important / just plain better than us mere mortals and so can cut us up and barge in.
I'd like a revolving gun turret in the middle of the roundabout to pick the pricks off.

You forgot to mention about not having to indicate as well....my finger is far too precious to indicate like the rest of the peasants.

Actually I'm not sure why we're so worried about this, being S-o-T people will still be calling it the MFI Roundabout in 20 years time and the Sentinel will have articles about everyone's happy memories of it...

Quite near Asda if you just stay on the A500 a bit longer roundabout?? Bit of a mouthfull Sal, maybe abbreviate it? the QNAIYJSOTAABL roundabout? what if you were going the other way then it would be the 'Quite near Asda but You have just gone past it so turn around at the next roundabout and go back again roundabout' also there is a roundabout named 'The Magic Roundabout' in Swindon which makes Smallthorne roundabouts look tame. The lunacy of the magic roundabout www.strum.co.uk/wessex/brunpic.htm
