When we consider all the younger players we have seen play for Stoke this past year, its slightly worrying to note how few of our Next Big things seem to make it.
Dean Crowe was always hotly tipped and now is languishing at Luton Town.
Marc Goodfellow has obviously made a great start at Bristol City, but its still a step-down from the mighty potters.
Then theres Karl Henry, who although he has not yet left the club on a permanent basis, i don't see the quality this player is supposed to pocess and which got him into the England U20's set up.
Now although Commons is tipped for Premiership greatness, it strikes me that the last player to leave stoke and go on to great things was Andy Griffin. Can we see any of our current crop bucking the trend and going to a higher level?

I don't think I've seen enough of most of them to make a judgement to be honest.
In general, although they've made numerous appearances, they never seem to be given a proper run of conscutive games to adjust and make an impact.
It's very difficult to adjust and make an impression in the odd appearance here and there and 20 mins or so as a sub. Even the departed Goodfellow never really played 4-5 games on the trot to get up to the speed of the first team. I wonder sometimes if he even made 2 consecutive starts ???
The only one to me who makes an instant impact is Kris Commons. He just has the confidence and ability on the ball that makes people stand out and I'm sure that, as he learns to use his talent, he will become a very useful player indeed. IMHO.
