Yes I read that. What a pity it didn't come from the manager instead.

Not Good Enough - Lawrence Posted on: Sat 03 Jan 2009 Liam Lawrence couldn't hide his disappointment following City's shock 2-0 FA Cup defeat against Hartlepool United on Saturday, and immediately issued an apology to who he describes as the best supporters in the country. The City favourite came on as a second half substitute as Tony Pulis looked to ignite a fight back at Victoria Park, however a comeback never occurred and Lawrence admits their performance was simply not good enough. "I would just like to apologise to the supporters on behalf of all the players and the management," he said. "We were extremely poor today and we never really worked their goalkeeper which was very disappointing. "People paid good money to come here today, like they have done all season, and to put in a performance like that was very poor. "We never really got going, and no disrespect to Hartlepool, but we should be coming here and turning them over in all honesty. "Our supporters are the best in the country for me, and again they never stopped singing today. I'm gutted for them because they won't be happy going home but all I can say is stick with us because we will turn it around." The former Sunderland star hasn't appeared in the top flight since the defeat against Chelsea back in September, and while he says he is edging closer to full fitness, it still may be a few weeks until he is back to his best. "It was good to get back but I'm annoyed with the result to be honest. "I'm probably a couple of weeks off but it was nice to get back involved. The main priority now though is to regroup and get these defeats out of our system. "It's no good losing games, and we are running out of time, so we need to do something about it urgently. "We have a good squad of players here, a good manager and a good management team so I am fully confident that we can turn it around." Top stuff Liam very good to hear that. Now get Fuller to offer one for his stupidity at West Ham
