When TP re-joined the club, I was one of the many people who was bitterly disappointed that he was hired again, mainly because I knew the type of football that would be played at The Brittania. TP totally proved me wrong and did what I thought was not going to happen for a long time, getting Stoke City into The Premiership. Massive credit must go to TP and he worked wonders to get the side promoted.
We now sit as a Premier League club dumped out of the FA Cup by lowly opposition again (nothing new there) and with our Premiership survival looking in the balance. If TP goes out and signs three or four genuine 'quality' players, by this I mean not Championship players such as Tongue and Soares then I believe we will have a chance of survival.
However, do we still think that TP is the man to do it? I have listened to Praise and Grumble and looked at The Oatcake and I the majority of people would argree that TP is still the man to be in charge at Stoke City FC. I do agree with that, despite not liking his brand of football, however, I am starting to lose a lot of confidence in TP by his sheer stubborness with players like Vincent Pericard. What on earth does TP see in this man? Richard Cresswell is NOT a left winger and I cannot fault Richard Cresswell's commitment but he is not being played in position. For a manager who has done so very well getting the side promoted, how can he not see that these types of players are simply not at this level. What annoys me more, is that TP knows what the fans think of Pericard. Why today, did TP not play someone like Soares who has pace up front and play Lawrence from the start? It is simply disgusting that fans are paying good money to watch Pericard in a Stoke shirt.
I really do hope that we give Kitson the chance he deserves in the side and over the next coming weeks he should get his chance. Sadly, we do not play the type of football he is used to I think!!
I am confident that Coates will allow three or four players to sign, the question is whether those players are good enough to keep the club in the Premier League.
Though I know it is hard at times;
Keep the faith Stokies!!!

what exactly is Gerry Francis' role, i ask myself...wouldn't you think it would be to advise him on selection etc....or is TP so stubborn as to refuse assistance...no wonder he's looking haggered of late

Thanks for writing that SA_78. You saved me having to type it. I don't want Pulis gone now at all, it'd be a daft thing to do. But the man really does himself NO favours whatsoever!

Pulis is impossible to love. If he got us into the Champions League people would still moan about him and probably justifiably so at times.
Sacking him would be silly, but as someone posted above, he really doesn't do himself any favours.

The main problem is that TP got away last season with the square peg in a round hole approach (i.e. Cresswell on the flanks)
In the Premier League square pegs have to go in square holes and you have to play players in there correct positions (Shawcross at right-back the other week)
