Curbishley is the man. Much better management record than TP. I wonder what would have happened to Curbishley and Charlton if he'd been sacked during his first season in the top flight with them?

I wonder what would have happened to Curbishley and Charlton if he'd been sacked during his first season in the top flight with them? i wonder what would have happened to tottenham if they kept ramos in charge? Charlton and Curbishley were a team and manager in the Prem for the first time, as we are, rather than an established cup-winning Prem side hoping to crack the top 4. Expectations were totally different, and it's therefore a retarded example. I hope this helps "Oracle".

Tony Waddingon - Daft I Know but you started it.
Our greatest ever manager was also subjected to cries of "Waddo Out" by the brainless minority.Fortunately the chairman was a wise man and the rest is History

Let's see what happens after "new manager syndrome" wears off. I seem to remember them getting a new manager a couple of years back and getting pretty convincingly relegated.

its all swings and roundabouts
you warped ideology of that EVERY team that changes manager mid-season ends up in a poor state or relegated is unfounded

I just think that it'd be detrimental to a club in our position, new to the Premier League, still in with a very good shout of staying up, only 3 points off 11th place, to destablize the club.

RVD whats your opinion on tony pulis? I think he's far from perfect and there's currently much to be worried about. The lack of Plan B and baffling team selections are cause for concern. I also feel however, that he's proved the doubters wrong before, that he's done a good job for this club, delivering top tier football for the first time in 23 years, that we're in a strong position to get out of this mess compared to promoted sides in prior seasons, and that he's earned the right to try and keep us up.

i agree Rob, but with fiances etc in modern day football, we cant let him stay on due to the fact he got us here there is too much at stake. we may never get back in the premiership again for many many years IF we go down

It's not like we're adrift at the bottom though is it? We're still very much in the hunt. All teams in a relegation battle go through bad spells, wouldn't you agree?

yes all teams go through bad spells but its how long the bad spells go on is the key point! tp has proven when given 'large amounts of money' (in stoke city standards) he cant get the players in
we desperately need attacking players

Gerald Houllier with Phil Thompson assistant manager/coach and Denis Smith Director of Football.
If we are going to get rid of TP we might as well clear the decks properly.

Should they sack their manager as well? We're still in with a chance, the season hasn't been the disaster some people have painted it as thus far.

Hull have attacking quality players though eg: geovanni, king etc
that extra bit of creativity will get them out of trouble

We'll see won't we. The fact remains that their bad run is comparable to ours in the league at present.

If TP was poached by Real Madrid, I suspect PC would appoint Gerry Francis as manager. I think that Curbishley is in semi-retirement, so would he want to manage a club away from his base in London? If I could pick a manger who would suit our size of club and do well it would be Big Sam with Phil Brown as his assistant. This is as likely to happen as TP joining Real Madrid
