Curbs kept charlton up after building up the structure of the club for years and years, the success was achieved by not sacking the manager every few years

In the unlikely event of a change, I presume Coatesy would want an old-school, British-style manager.
Hard to think of any decent ones around now Allardyce is employed.
Tough to really think of any realistic names. I suppose Curbishley is the only one with any track record who's semi-realistic.
Steve McClaren? ;D
I don't suppose Strachan could be tempted away from the tedium of Scotland?
Gary Johnson? Roberto Martinez? Gus Poyet?
The dearth of realistic contenders is probably as good a reason as any why the status quo is probably the best bet, even if we were in an alternate universe where getting rid would even cross Coates' mind.

Curbs kept charlton up after building up the structure of the club for years and years, the success was achieved by not sacking the manager every few years Fair do's - how long and how much money has the current manager had? 6 years, £6million to get us up last season alone, £22miilion this season. 6 years, over £30million spent and no plan B and a team that can't string a pass together.

What exactly has Nigel Clough done to warrant the job other than having that surname? He's been there years and this is Burton's first realistic chance of promotion during all that time. If he was called Nigel Smith would his name be in the frame?

Curbishley is the man. Much better management record than TP.
