It was a good finish. However, I can't understand why he turned his back on the ball. Makes no sense at all. He should have cleared it then imo.

He turned his back on the ball against Derby thus giving away the penalty.
Personally I feel Griff has put in some good performances but it seems when he fucks up he REALLY fucks up. Im still pissed off about what happened but for the good of the club we need to move on - and quickly.

I can't see where people are coming from in saying Griff is at "fault" in this or that he "caused" the incident. Yes, he made a mistake which cost us a goal - he does that from time to time. All our players make mistakes from time to time - if they didn't we'd be top of the league with no problem. If you say Ricci was right to give Griff a slap then, presumably, if he does it to a team mate in the next match after suspension and gets sent off again, he will still be right? Presumably it will also be right for any of his team mates to give Fuller a slap and get sent off every time Fuller misses a goal, which is pretty well every match, as it is for most strikers?

Whilst i dont condone what Fuller did to Griffin i dont condone what Griffin supposedly said to Fuller too. Unfortunately some people have very short tempers and whilst most might be able to restrain themselves when provoked there is a small percentage that will simply blow up, that doesn't make it right but that's life i'm affraid. Depending on what Griffin actually said 'someone said he called Fuller a monkey', then if this is true then in my opinion it can be understood why Fuller reacted in the spur of the moment that he did. Personally speaking if this is true then no matter what time of day or wherever it is then he fully deserves a smack. That is without a doubt the biggest load of political garbage I have ever read. Get your feet on the ground Mister,Fuller struck his Captain, end of bloody story,it does not matter what he alleged to have called him. You know what they say Smudge, you can fool some of the people some of the time etc etc.

Must admit that after listening to the match on Radio Stoke I was for kicking Riccy straight out of the door. However after seeing the incident on MOTD I think he was right doing what he did. In fact he should have given Griff a bloody good thumping instead of a girly slap. I have never seen such lily livered defending in all my life. Not only did Griff turn his back on the ball he must have done it with his eyes closed because he obviously had no idea the ball had fallen at his feet. For a professional footballer, particularly a defender, to turn his back on the ball is inexcusable but Griff seems to make a habit of this - most notably the last minute penalty he gave away against Derby. Riccy has since apologised to the club and it's supporters. I haven't heard anything similar from Griff. It's Griff who should be fined two weeks wages and should only play when we have no other option. You clearly dont go to many games and have not seen what griff has done for us this season. He has been one of the best and most consistent players this season.

Fuller was wrong slap Griffin. Simple. However, was Griffin right to respond to Fuller's comments regarding the woeful defending on his part? No, for me. Was he right to make pathetic gestures as Fuller was going off? No, again, for me.
