It’s still the festive season so there are lots of goodies to unrap on this week’s podcast. Our big interview is with Stoke legend Peter Hoekstra who talks in detail about his time in the Potteries. We also take a step back to consider the season so far from Stoke’s perspective with Chief Football writer from the Express, Mick Dennis. Hugh Ferris from Manchester’s Key 103 FM joins us to chat about the Man U game and BBC Sport’s David Croft (fivelive Formula 1 commentator and West Ham fan) chats to us about the desperately disappointing goings on at Upton Park and THAT incident. All this, the usual emails and the quiz where this week you can win a chance to appear as one of our guests on next week’s show… Download it now from www.stokecityetc.co.uk or subscribe via itunes. I've always enjoyed listening to David Croft's coverage of F1 on five live. He comes across as a level headed and fair reporter, and I think he did the same in your interview.
Great work guys, keep it up.

Mick Dennis is a very poor journalist and vicious hater of all things Stoke City. You only have to read his vile, vomit inducing column in the Express today to see what an utter twat he really is.
I don't expect you to have a go at your guests or only have guests who sing from the Stoke hymn sheet, I do however expect you to make pernicious wank stains like Dennis accountable for the spiteful drivel he spouts about Stoke on an almost weekly basis.
The easy ride you give him and (I'm sorry to say) the way you toad about and fawn after him does you and your otherwise excellent podcast no credit whatsoever.

Mick Dennis was given enough rope to hang himself, and he did. He sounded like a total freeloader to me.

Mick Dennis really does hate us, I wouldn't bother having him on again he has hardly said anything new! Having watched a few Norwich games on tv this season their style is shockingly bad, at least we have a point to our play unlike Norwich who are just bad, real bad. The Man U & West Ham journo's were quite interesting to listen to though. Why not get Laura to also give a prediction for the next game, I bet she would beat both of you by the end of the season

interesting to note that as fans we would prefer grounds in the centre of town next to the pubs but that a modern out of town stadium with all the mod cons can attract players.
great interview with hoekstra

Dennis claims to be a Norwich fan yet seems to fail to see that the odds are stacked greatly against any newly promoted club and thus has to have an affect on the style they play (note Brazil and Hulls change to a more 'direct' game.
The trouble is that whilst leaches like him are making a screw on the back of it then they wont dare kill the goose that laid their particular fat egg.

Excellent, back after my three weeks seeing the family in England so I have three podcasts to catch up on. I managed to get a ticket for the Man U game the night before due to someone being ill so I managed to fit in Fulham and Man U while at home, the less said about Blackburn and West Ham the better really.
I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year!
