We are heading into the New Year on 20 points... many more than many of us probably expected, still with a great chance of staying up (with the addition of some new faces next month)!
As disapointing as today was we are still looking ok for survival.
As for the Fuller/Griffin incident... some might say it was Fuller being petulant and stupid (admitedly) and some might say it shows the passion and desire within the squad to do well and the desire to win. Personally i think both are true and over the last few games i think Fuller has had this red card coming so maybe it will do him good to sit out a few games and think about whats hes done and how he can make it up to the team.. i.e by scoring the goals to keep up up! Not that that helps the team in the short term, but hopefully Kitson and A.N other will be ready for the Liverpool game to show that we are more than just a one man show.
I dont think we need to be thinking about selling Fuller, i think thats just silly talk personally. He a great player and one we need to keep. I think TP needs to have words with him (privatley) but publically stick up for him. Which im sure is what will happen.
To suggest he is losing the dressing room is just silly talk too. TP has based his whole managerial career on building character and team spirit and i cant see that changing over night. Personally i dont think its a coincidence that Pericard has featured more in recent weeks. 1) it puts him in the shop window and 2) he has nothing to lose. If he scores and plays well then great and if not then maybe a lower league team fancies a gamble on him.. a player now who has played in the top flight for us.
Come on people, its not as bad as all that. We all knew it wasnt going to be easy but we are doing ok for our FIRST season in the Prem and we know we are gonna lose more than we win! No need to panic just yet!!

Well said. There's always huge over-reaction on here.
I'm gutted too but we just have to put it behind us and get up for the next game.
I'm more pissed off that Fuller gets sent off for slapping his own player whereas Ballack gets nothing for doing the same to an opposition player.
Makes you wonder what the point is really.

Good post duane. I listened to game on www. and was absolutely livid at the way 2 of our senior players apparently committed football suicide and threw game away. Then I went for a walk with the dog and came to my sences a bit. I really hope todays game is a defining moment in the season for us. We have gifted our last 2 away games to the opposition and for that some players must hang their heads in shame because we are running the risk not losing our hard won premiership status but actually throwing it away. I rarely come on here and berate our players but now is the time for them to ask themselves do they want to fight for Stoke City or are they just here for the money because imo the last two away games have been a shambles.
