should be on the top of Tonys shopping list in January.Someone who can hold the team together with experience and encouragement but at the same time can kick the players arses when needed.

I think Ab Faye has done an absolutely excellent job since Griff got injured, and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets to keep the captains arm band permanently.

Ab Faye seems to have done well, for what difference it actually makes. I can't see how wearing a bit of cloth around your arm is really worth a massive amount of scrutiny
But the other players seem to respect him, and he seems to chat quite a bit throughout the match
He also was making a point of pleading our case to the ref on Boxing Day, even if it involved a 30-yard jog to the ref to make his point as the captain.

D'ya not think there's much point in footy teams should having captains then FM? I always think the debates about the ins and out of football captaincy are overblown, to be honest, Paul. It's not like cricket or even rugby, is it? If you've got a Tony Adams or a Vince Overson, fair enough. They virtually pick themselves. But in the absence of somebody like that, I don't think it really matters as long as he's pretty widely respected in the dressing room. In the last 12 months, we've had Delap, Diao, Griffin and Faye, and Higginbotham's done it in the past. So, should which one of them tosses the coin matter that much? Not actually having the armband shouldn't stop all the leader-figures in the team doing their bit of leading.

Fair do's FM.
However I think there's been a couple of incidents so far when Faye, since he's had the arm band, has offered quite a bit more than just calling the coin toss.
For example in the Fulham game, during the 'head butt' incident Fuller was just about to explode, when Abdoulaye got straight in there and quite possibly saved him from a sending off.
Something I'm not sure that Diao or Griff would have done.
Maybe you're right and the importance of the arm band is a bit over blown, however I think Faye is more than holding his own with regard to whatever responsibilities it does hold.
