that after Nigel had asked about players arriving in January TP immediately replied about his players allready at the club.
It left myself with the impression that perhaps we aint as close as we would like to believe we are when it comes to players arriving.

My worry is that the deal for Dindane has a feel of the Zigic saga about it. Radio Stoke announce Tony Scholes has flown out to finalise a deal, and......

Did Scholesy make it back from France in time for his turkey, or is he lost in France?
All gone, typically, very quiet.

I think he probably didn't want to talk about new players after the present ones had just given a very good showing.

I think he was making the point that we had just seen the team play the game of their lives, and to be talking about new players at this point would be disrespectful of their efforts and a bit of an unnecessary put-down.

We are always in for this player and that player but at the end of the day the player in question has to agree to the contract that Stoke are prepared to offer them.
This normally means the player goes away and signs for somebody else who is willing to give in to their demands.
Works out fine sometimes as you don't want a player who isn't interested in playing for Stoke City but is only after the money but do want a player who is happy to join the club for other reasons than just money.

Yesterday we had Griffin Diao Kitson Sidibe all out and all would have started we also had Lawrence and the Southamptonn lad (Davies?) on the bench and therefore only four outfield players that did play would have played if we had a clean bill of health!
TP won't want to be talking about replacing players when we'd just fielded a team of virtual reserves who had got the better of Mancscum for long periods. But he will know what we want and need to survive.
With TP we have a great chance of finding the other six or seven victories we need to survive. Talking about it after our reserves almost held ManUre wouldn't be appropiate imo
