We played brilliantly yesterday. Really proud of the lads and very unblucky not to come away with a point or possibly three. Sadly results didn't go our way but if you look at the league a win could potentially put us back in 11th or 12th. That is just how close this league is this season.
I say (sticking my neck out) that if we go out and play like that against West Ham we can definatly come away with something.

I'm sure the lads will take great heart from yesterdays performance, and have a right old go at West Ham. I Conna wait! Come on lads, we're due a win.

A good point well made.
Our chins will be up now and nearly taking Man Utd the world club champions the distance will definatly have us smelling blood. We are definatly staying up this season.

PCW,
I certainly hope so and I'd go as far as saying I fear for us if we don't come away with at least a point. The three fixtures after WHU don't read too well. Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs away. I can't see us picking up anything from these three to be perfectly honest and it is therefore paramount that we pick up a point(s) tomorrow. Bellamy suspended, lets take advantage. We need to try and maintain the same intensity, though it will be interesting to see how much the work put in yesterday will affect us.

If we play like we did yesterday then we can win. I think we need something out of this game as January is going to be a very very tough month.

If we play with the conviction of yesterday with Davies starting at right back ,Lawrence giving us a bit of width and Pericard left on the coach I think we can nick something !

I'm not altogether sure why we're getting overly excited at the return of LL at this moment of time.
The lad made a massive contribution last year but was below par prior to the injury and has had no football since. He needs to be gradually eased back into the fold, for my money.

If we take the game to them, give them no space and time, and mark their dangermen as well as we did United's then there is no reason why we can't

At home I always fancy we can get something and only Chelsea have dominated at the Brit. Our away performances have with the odd exception pretty awful...bolton, Man city, Portsmouth blackburn Man U were shockers and suggest unless TP comes up with a better away game plan the West Ham game is likley to add to the list. He really does have to turn our away form around otherwise we are gone at the end of the season

The first priority tomorrow is keeping a clean sheet, which has IMO been made easier with the suspension of Bellamy. I have a feeling Griffin will be back and our defence then has a good balance to it. I am not suggesting we play like we did away at Wigan (although that would be favourable than how we played at Blackburn) I hope we have a right go at them, and get at least a point.

Thats why I said I am not suggesting we play like that. BUT it would be favourable to the shambles that was our display at Blackburn. I want to be entertained, but we need points more. Ideally we will get both.

Bellamy missing is a real plus point. Fancy us to take a much needed point tomorrow and hopefully climb out of the bottom 3. Is so tight- 6 points is it separate 12 teams? Odd game yesterday with Pompey- they created a lot of chances and West Ham did what they did v Blackburn, caught them on the break late on and won by a very flattering scoreline.
Major worry is lack of goals- I will be happy with a dreadful 0-0 tomorrow. At this stage a point far more important than performance. Transfer window about to open and a fair break in the league before our next game to get new faces in. January is tough but better get these games out of the way now- what we don't want is to start to fall behind that middle pack. We really need a result tomorrow

West Ham are struggling at home, and if they dont score an early goal their fans will get on their backs. However, how long is it since we scored a goal?

I agree, Monkeycat. It always has to be the starting point for us, away from home. Nicking a couple of 0-1 results is our best chance away from home, IMHO.

Realistically, there's no option now - we have GOT to play like we did yesterday at Wet Sham and every other game till the end of the season. Results like Blackburn (and their impact on our GD) have cost us what little breathing space we had, and with Newcastle and Spurs metamorphosing into football teams at last we ain't going to get it back.

Can we get something at West Ham? Of course we can. But if you mean WILL we, then I start to get nervous. As I mentioned elsewhere, I shall think of Taggart's first game at Upton Park and hope for a repeat. There is no reason why we can't win and I expect a draw, at minimum.
